The local area is beautiful.Near where we stayed there is a very popular pub and in the next village a cafe.There are no shops so bring your groceries with you.There are fantastic parks for children in Matlock and Bakewell.

Social catchup with old friends in Chapel en le Frith where one of them lives. Lovely small town in Peak District with plenty of accessible walking routes. Town has all facilities needed for a shortish stay

The Jug & Glass pub was a great place, good food.
The Jug & Glass pub was a great place, good food. Lovely coffee and cake at Lea Gardens. The walk from Highpeak Junction to Cromford was very pleasant, had a very refreshing drink in The Boat Inn.

High Peak Junction is a beautiful and peaceful spot right on the edge of the Peak District. It’s a great place for walking or cycling, with scenic trails and lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The historic railway buildings give it a unique charm, and it's perfect for anyone looking to enjoy nature and a bit of local history.
I really enjoyed my visit – it's quiet, relaxing, and full of character. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely quiet spot, ideal for 2, but good for a 3rd.
Lovely quiet spot, ideal for 2, but good for a 3rd. Great pubs a short walk away and local shops to supply most supplies. Good walking directly from the property. The village cafe had a wide selection using locally sourced products. We came by train and it is only a 20 minute walk away. With trains each hour it is easy to visit other locations along the hope valley.

Great location if you want to visit the peak district, just go walking or visit the blue john mines. Its a lovely little town with all the amenities you could need.
I stayed and ate in the Royal Oak, it was a great menu and the food is all cooked fresh, couldn't rate it highly enough.
