The Old Cook's House is set in Hindhead and offers a tennis court. The accommodations is 25 mi from Basingstoke, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. Quiet and ideal self contained accommodation. Had all that we needed for our short stay.
The Devils Cradle is offering accommodations in Churt. All rooms feature a kitchen and a private bathroom, which is open plan to the bedroom area. Free WiFi is provided. If I could score The Devils Cradle higher than a 10 I would!! I can't recommend the place highly enough. Trish who runs it is super hospitable and was on the case as soon as I had made the reservation making sure I had all the info I needed and welcoming me in. The cabin is very self sufficient (own cooking area, fridge etc), is really relaxing and has a very comfortable bed. It also has a good shower and bath and if you want to be a bit more active it backs onto great areas for walking or running. The cabin was really well appointed and very clean and was one of the nicest most welcoming stays I've had anywhere (and I've traveled all over the world, many times over) I look forward to the next time I might be able to stay!
Set in Frensham, Bel And The Dragon-Churt offers a garden, terrace and bar. The property features a children's playground and free WiFi throughout the property. Amazing service. Above and beyond. Lucinda was extra diligent and looked after wedding cupcakes and made sure we had brekkie in the room as we were getting ready for the big day. We loved staying here. Couldn’t recommend more
Prestwick Oak features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Haslemere. Each unit is fully fitted with a washing machine, a satellite flat-screen TV, a sofa and desk. The peacefulness, views across field / having own kitchen/ outdoor area to sit.
Only saw a small part as was mostly hiking, but there was a lovely pub in the next village called the fox and flamingo. The national trust park of devil's punchbowl and surrounding heaths, commons and forests are beautiful. Plenty of walks for all abilities.
Hindhead Haslemere and Lynchmere are lovely villages linked by beech woods with bracken - hard to find anywhere as nice in Autumn and we revisit a s other counties are never as good. Haslemere town now has a cafe quarter that was even open on sunday. Go up to Lynchmere Village to visit the prettiest church. Tour round the Devil's Punchbowl for scenery. Stop at Frensham Ponds for a walk along sandy dry paths. Follow the Hog's Back road for a view. Farnham is worth an afternoon out.. WHat about Guildford to visit the cathedral.
Although I never left the peace and quiet of Grayshott Manor and Spa I have passed through historic Hindhead on previous occasions with its restful English architecture, fine hilltop surroundings, clean air and extensive views.
Did not like the 70’s extension where most of the rooms are. This is not shown on the brochure or website and is need of a refurbishment or knock down. Bed for me was way too hard and uncomfortable. It was 33 degrees while we were there but still had winter Doonas on bed with no optional sheet and way too hot even with aircon. Did not sleep well at all and I went there to rest so v disappointed. Quoted £60 for pedicure then wanted to charge me an extra £20 on checkout to remove existing polish. That was the final straw for me. Would never go back.
Hindhead is a very small town but there are several neighbouring places to visit including the National Trust sites that are very enjoyable and picturesque. Local small towns still have individuality, with a several good eating places and bespoke shops
I liked the breakfast. It was very nicely cooked and the food quality was high. The bathroom was spoitkess. Which was good. The room was clean although a bit cramped but it was clean. The pillows were comfy. Staff were friendly and efficient and very helpful. They even organised a taxi for us late one evening wHen I called them to ask for taxi details to help us return back to the hotel. They organised a car to come and get us which was very much apprecisted by us. It's a pleasant hotel to stay in.
