Our hotel was very comfortable with private parking (a HUGE bonus in London area). Plenty of shops, entertainment and restaurants to suit all pockets and great transport facilities. If driving, very close to lovely countryside. Lovely to visit but London not for me to live. Too crowded, too expensive, personally, but obviously suits many.
A lovely leafy suburb located about 30 minutes away from London by train. The only problem being it’s on Southern Rail’s patch and most of the trains on the day we stayed were either delayed or cancelled. More reason to stay in at the Duke’s Head hotel and pub which was an absolute pleasure.
Great atmosphere and not sure what I didn't like. Easy parking, access to the local shops and food,i ate from GOLDEN GRILL KEBAB SHOP, in high Street Wallington, the food was good, lovely stuff and polite.
On Arrival the staff were friendly and were happy to help. Bar and restaurant were lovely. Great beer and wine. Menu was varied in choices and it was very good food. Prices were good for the quality. Wine was very pricy though. Buy a bottle rather than individual glasses. Lovely cosy relaxing atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable big beds lovely shower.
Did not spend too much time in Wallington as we knew friends nearby and used it as a base too see them. Great Sunday evening roast with our friends in the Dukes Head restaurant/pub and then on to London (from Wallington overground station) to see the show Checkout on the Tuesday
Great location, comfortable clean rooms, good facilities at the duke's head, parking good and safe, unfortunately the breakfast and service was awful, management need to look at this, as this is the missing link as to an excellent place to stay.
