Overlooking the English Channel, the Hannafore Point Hotel boasts luxurious rooms, a terrace restaurant and 2 bars. Recreational facilities include a spa and an indoor pool. From the moment we arrived to when we left, we had a wonderful time. Such a beautiful place and what views! A modern place and yet with an eye to detail for the traditional. We were told in advance that a cooked breakfast wouldn't be available due to staff shortages, but the hotel certainly maid up for it. Croissants, porridge, Canadian pancakes with fruit and honey, yoghurt and homemade Bircher müsli (non-dairy option too) with various fresh fruits. I'll definitely be back

I have been to Looe a couple of times. I find it a very comfortable place to stay with good access to public transport if you can leave your car at the place where your staying. There are bus routes and a Train station near by. We went to St Ives on the train a party of 4 and a baby for £36 return. The train journey is roughly 2.5 hours but well worth it.
Looe is a pretty working fishing town and beautiful. Lots of little back roads around the town and a good selection of shops and pubs. A beautiful harbour front and some seriously good coastal walks to do. Would definitely visit again. We ate at 2 top class restaurants, The Sardine Factory and The Old Sail Loft and highly recommend them to anyone.
Looe is great for families and really good for wandering…..around the harbour , around the Millpool area, up to Hannafore. The coast paths to Polperro and Millendreath are really worth doing for the views ..if you can. We bussed back from Polperro. Town can get very busy and congested in peak season but easy to avoid the narrow areas. Good to have accommodation a little walk from the town ….not noisy with good views.
Looe is a very pretty place, love every thing about it.. The shops are great and there are plenty of places to eat. We always eat at Ye old Salutation pub the food is good value and the staff are nice but make sure that you book as it does get very busy.
Quite a few pubs and restaurants, but not all open during our visit; February half-term. Some have no alcohol licence, but you can take your own. Some shops and restaurants only take cash, apparently, wifi is a bit slow down the back streets.
We really liked Looe. I'd imagine during Summer it gets very crowded, but in December it was quiet and you could wander the little streets without the crowds and it has some nice little quirky independent shops. There are also some great Seafood Restaurants, especially "The Fish Market", with fabulous local produce including Lobster & Scallops. Plenty of parking either on the East side of Looe right by the shops or over the bridge in West Looe. The beach looked lovely too, and overall we really enjoyed our couple of days there. We even saw the Christmas Lights :)
The stay was exceptional. I booked this stay for a romantic date night with my wonderful boyfriend and we had such a wonderful evening and morning after, delicious breakfast serviced by our wonderful host Simon. The view was spectacular and the bed was so comfortable. We even had treats upon arrival. So lovely I can't even express what a memorable stay it was. We will always remember our spectacular date night in Looe and our peaceful slumber and stay at Penwyn. Thank you!
Lovely hotel on the quayside with views across the harbour. The staff were very friendly and incredibly attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is insane - definitely 5 ⭐️. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Parking isn’t on site but close by and reasonably priced. Perfect position for exploring Looe. We would definitely return and totally recommend. Thank you to everyone at the Portbyhan for making our stay so enjoyable.
when we went it was after the schools went back so it was reasonable quite. the weather was good and the ferry for 50p was excellent. parking in Cornwall is always a problem but we had a reserved spot. if the weather was bad you would have to go out from Looe for some ware inside.
This property & owners are the best people & location we have ever had in Cornwall/Looe.You couldn’t wish for a more friendly couple & the location is the best. This was our second stay & we will definitely be returning their very soon.
