Everything went very well, I spent two nights and it was an exceptional stay. I told them I am in a honeymoon and I was given a complimentary upgrade and also received a substantial discount for the wellness center, which I took advantage of for a relaxing massage. The on-site restaurant “Taj Bombay Brasserie” was also lovely and the cuisine was delightful, I even met the chief to personally thank him for the delicious food. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and plan to return again in the near future. I will be sure to recommend this hotel to friends and family as well. Thank you to the Taj’s team for making our stay so special.

Excellent location with the park, little stream and the turtles!) easy access to downtown or the vine region. Shops and some eateries within minutes, yet pristine and quiet relaxing setting. Nice restaurant, helpful staff, beautiful gardens. Gym/pool are great. Staff are friendly and helpful - we had a small issue with the shower drain and it was fixed promptly. Likely best option for Kaapstadt visit. Get a car for travel to Stollenbosch and Konstantia. Walk about in the wonderful Claremont neighbourhood. Enjoy the marvellous Mountain View.

FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colorful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settlement process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside of Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

It's a great city but the divide between the rich and poor is very glaring, which confirms that the have-mores have more whilst the have-nots live in squalor. Other than that it is a great travel destination

The traffic and road congestion does not get any better over the years. Taxi, bus and coach are the best ways to commute for visitors. Self drive being caught in traffic jams is very painful. A lot of suburban residents try to avoid the central and V&A waterfront - more buildings and developments in progress.

There's a lot to do in the vicinity of Cape Town, even if you don't drink wine. We stayed in the Sea Point / Bantry Bay area and felt quite safe observing general good safety practice - Home by 7.00pm and sober moral citizens - avoided the city centre unless being dropped and picked up. There are a good number of homeless people in Cape Town, even in this area, but they were not bothering us. We used Uber to get around without issue and took the Red and Blue tour Bus for a day tour. Took the cable car to the top of Table Mountain. walked from Sea Point to Camps Bay twice. Visited Franschhoek for a day out. Shopped at the V&A as well as Canal Walk. Lots of expensive brands but reasonable value in the supermarkets and around. Even Spar in South Africa is amazing (try the Spar in Sea Point for food and health products if you're in the area). Cape Town Airport and customs were a dream both in and out. Food is absolutely amazing and excellent value off the euro. The sun sets over the sea and the whole place has a smooth California feel about it. Visited in August.

An absolutely GREAT clean, safe city to visit .

An absolutely GREAT clean, safe city to visit . The V&A Waterfront is a must to visit . We enjoyed the african dancers with the african drum beats - absolutely magic . This was a favourite attraction of all tourists. There are too much to see and do in this city - time is never enough here - we stayed 21 days. We shall return soonest. Restaurants all over Cape Town is excellent. Our favourite restaurant was Cattle Baron at DE Waterkant. Wine farms were great and a trip to Table mountain need to be booked well in advance.

Cape town use to be a fun city.

Cape town use to be a fun city. Now it’s just too expensive and there are no beautiful views anymore as everywhere you go it’s construction sites. It’s not even safe anymore. However, as a solo traveler is was easy to get around and I still enjoyed the beach, the cape wheel not so much as the view was not as amazing as it used to be when it was at its previous location. I also enjoyed going to the Two ocean’s Aquarium

it’s a 4 star Cape Town hotel on the main road next to the beach. The bed was big and comfy but the bathroom lacked the advertised bath. They moved us to another room on the ground floor next to the courtyard restaurant, where a loud band was playing it being Sunday afternoon. But they stopped at 6 so no problem. The service and food offerings were good and you can walk, carefully, across the road and watch the waves crash onto the rocks. Probably a good 25 minutes walk to the Waterfront. Take an Uber.

Modern built with plenty of daylight in the heart of Cape Town CBD, offering generous views of Table Mountain and Lion's Head on a clear sunny day. It is a private residence based in the upper floors of Pullman Hotel, therefore do expect individuals in and out of the hotels and lifts constantly. Central location close to Long and Bree St, with shops, dining and bars aplenty.
