We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, reflecting great attention to detail. The service was excellent—they were warm and helpful, and they kindly stored our luggage free of charge both before check-in and after check-out, which made our trip much more convenient. Breakfast was another highlight: generous, varied, and delicious, with made-to-order dishes available. Everything we tried was excellent. Overall, the hotel offers outstanding value for money. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers.

We were greeted very warmly by the owner and this warmth extended throughout our stay. The room was compact but lovely, with lots of natural light and a comfortable bed. Power points and lights just where you need them. The breakfast is delicious. The location, half way between Windermere and Bowness, is handy, with a bus stop 5 minutes walk away or a short walk into either of the little towns.

From the delicious made to order breakfasts to tips on where to go, I loved my stay at Haven Cottage. Never used my car once I got there. There is a bus stop right across the street if that's needed. But I walked into town and to hikes. If heading to the lake and you'd rather avoid main street, I recommend using the public walkway at the end of Stoney Lane. Take it over the bridge and make a left and you'll wind up on a pretty walk that can take you to the old Roman Fort ruins and then Borrans Park and then the pier (if you want to take a ferry anywhere). About a 20.minute walk (use Google maps or Waze so you don't lose your way). :) Lots of easily accessible hikes up the surrounding fells as well. I wish I could have stayed longer!
