Because we visit in January the pool wasn't open and the hotel was nearly empty. However, the staff organize an extremely nice breakfast for us. Very nice garden. The place should definitively be nice in season

Just up the hill from beach front with balcony views of pool and Atlantic Ocean. Luz is a beautiful town. Prettiest town at the beach front we visited in Portugal and Spain.

From villa not really walkable as street so very narrow.
From villa not really walkable as street so very narrow. Path not suitable for older folks or those with mobility problems. Had to drive. Good restaurants, beach and coffee shops. Grocery store close .
Easy drive to other beaches and towns for exploring.

The street closest to the beach where we stayed was the best 'old world' part of Salema. Other parts can be less aesthetically pleasing but the whole place is less fussy and busy than other coastal spots like Luz or Lagos. A quiet place worth 2 nights. Restaurant options good too, even in winter.

I loved this beach!
I loved this beach! It was so picturesque and uncluttered with commercialism. The water was a little too cold for us to swim, but it was a beautiful to stroll along the beach. Although this was a small beach, there were plenty of restaurants.

Quiet fishing village, not touristy.
Quiet fishing village, not touristy. Beautiful beaches and views of the ocean. Friendly people, good restaurants, lots of fresh fish. Easy to get around if you are wearing sturdy shoes as lots of steps and steep paths into the village from Salema Beach Village, however, there is a shuttle service from the hotel if required.

I deliberately chose to stay in Salema as I was looking for a small, pristine beach/fisherman g location - and I found it all there!
Salema has preserved its authentic self despite the tide of tourism that has engulfed other parts of the Algarve.
The beach is big enough to absorb many visitors without being full. The sand is beautiful and sunsets are of course very special.
The village has some very good restaurants, a gelateria and lots of cute shops.
And who doesn’t want to live, even temporarily, on Rua dos Pescadores!
This hotel is located in a perfect spot to be able to walk to I would say over 8 or more places to eat. It is ON the beach and you could come out of the hotel and go right to the sand if you want. I have a corner ocean view room and was perfect. The staff or who I think is the owner was super nice and a great person. I could go back here and stay a week and chill at this hotel easy. Small little store very close to get items and next to that could get breakfast each morning.
We have been visiting these lovely apartments since 2007. They have everything you need for a holiday in Salema (unless you plan to do a lot of cooking at home as there is no oven)With all the lovely local restaurants we eat out most of the time so the 2 hot plates, kettle, toaster and microwave are fine for us.Esmerelda and Paula in Reception are wonderful. The pool is lovely and everything is very clean. We will be back asap
Great old house with lots of vintage character! The location is great, up on the hill with a great view. Garden and pool are nice. Lots of space in the living room/dining area. Great communication with the host. Parking available. Good WIFI. Quite at night. Just a 10 minute walk to the beach (very steep, so you have to be fit). Salema ist great. Nothing to complain about, we enjoyed the time here a lot and will be back.
This home provides a uniquely beautiful place to stay in the best town in the Algarve! The Moroccan-inspired architecture was beautiful and we were truly only steps away from the beautiful beaches of Salema. We enjoyed having a large bathroom, kitchen and living room. I believe that the private courtyard of Casa Saudade is the most beautiful in all of Salema! We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful town.
Beautiful apartment in perfect location -- right above the beach (requires walking up a short steep hill). View from living room and balcony wonderful. Salema is great base for hiking along the cliffs, swimming, surfing. Beach is beautiful and while populated, not oppressively so. Much quieter than most of the Algarve. Lots of other beautiful beaches nearby.
Great hotel just steps away from the beach. The rooms were large and comfortable, with a perfect-size kitchen to help with breakfasts and lunches. We didn't get to try the pool because it was too cool in the autumn, but it looked refreshing. Nice touches like the clothes-drying rack and the balcony overlooking the beach. I hope we get to return one day!
The seaview was amazing, the staff were very friendly, the accomodation was close to Salema Beach, airconditioning in the whole house and the 2 bedroom townhouse was equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay! And on top of it all, our bed was festively decorated for our wedding anniversary, splendid! Thanks Salema Beach Village!
This is a wonderful property in the sleepy, little town of Salema. Up on a hill, it had a cooling breeze while offering a great view down to the ocean. Short walk down the hill to the beach, or to a couple of amazing restaurants with the freshest of seafood. The host Olivier was warm and welcoming.
Location was great. Just the week family escape to the warm weather that we needed. Besides the beach located just some steps away, Salema also has good restaurants that offer great seafood. The house is well equipped and it was quite pleasant to have fruits and water ready upon our arrival.
The condo was beautiful! It was sunny, fully-equipped with lovely patios, and a nice, partially- obstructed view of the ocean. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. Overall, our short stay at Salema was Beach Village was a highlight of our month in Spain and Portugal!
It was located on a pretty, peaceful street just a short walk to the beach and all Salema’s facilities.
I enjoyed eating at Boas - the friendly restaurant on the beach - food was delicious and service very good.
The kitchen was well equipped. The finishings were all pretty.
Salema itself is a very nice village with lovely restaurants and a beautiful beach but unfortunately this holiday villa is not at all as listed. Please beware and read details of the problems below so your holiday is not ruined as ours was.
Everything! Our room was clean, comfortable and modern with a nice balcony with a view of the ocean. Our bed was comfortable and our room had a good shower. We were served a good breakfast with several choices. This hotel is a real winner.
This camp was one of the best accomodations I had in Portugal. The teepee was big, clean, the bed was comfortable. The shared bathrooms were clean. The staff was very nice. I would definitely recommend it to everybody going to Salema:)
The pool was fantastic! It was nice to have a small market and pastry shop on the premises. The room was small but comfortable. The management even supplied a beach umbrella.
Everything! The location is the best. It’s close to the beach and restaurants. Tania was so nice and accommodating. The room was clean and well equipped. We loved Salema!
Great location hotel clean and good value for money! Breakfast was fine and would certainly stay there again !
Being a few steps away from the beach was amazing
