United StatesAfter glamping in a pod in the highlands, we booked The Witchery last minute--couple hours before we checked in--to pamper ourselves and rejuvenate before touring Edinburgh. The guardsman room was spacious with a large hall and three rooms and a bath. Great views outside the windows. The temperature was perfect--many places we stayed we had a hard time regulating this. Heated bathroom floors and a soaker tub perfect for relaxing after walking all day. The Dyson hair dryer came with many attachments including a diffuser for my curly hair! Hair straightener was also available--such a welcome touch! The breakfast had many choices and option to dine in restaurant or eat in sitting room. We chose sitting room and it was delightful. Spread out like royalty! Hotel was very close to shops, food, and the castle we were visiting. The staff held our bags, carried our bags, and helped us take them across the street when checking out. While it was very upscale, the staff were down to earth, professional and friendly. All of the furniture was comfortable and the chilled bottled water and chocolates were a nice touch. Turn down service was available as well.
