Santiago is an awesome city. The people are wonderful and there are so many great restaurants. The metro system is the best in South America - clean efficient and safe. I would recommend la Biferia for excellent wine and steak, and la giratorio for something a little bit gimmicky but also awesome.

Interesting city with easy access metro system.
Interesting city with easy access metro system. Highlights included San Cristobal Hill for the view and the main square. Due to the issues with pickpockets and street crime, it does require being hypervigilant with your valuables. We were touring the area around the Central Market when a local man approached us (2 women) and warned us that we were not safe in that area and needed to leave. Uber was the best way to get around and very cheap.

I had my necklace grabbed off my neck in the middle of the day near the main square. Very high crime rate. I did not feel safe walking around even during the day and came home straight after dinner each night. We liked Lastarria district at night for dinner. Sommelier Hotel rooftop bar was great although very heavy smokers everywhere.

I was very overwhelmed (in a good way) by the vibrancy of the city. It was very clean, safe, with nice people and great weather. I had no idea what to expect but I am already thinking about when I can return!

Great city to visit surrounded by magnificent mountains.
Great city to visit surrounded by magnificent mountains. The funicular, garden on top of San Cristobal Hill, teleferico, various shopping areas can be easily accessed with hop on/hop off bus.
Did not like Santiago Airport. Not because it is big, but because comfort of passengers was not considered as its first priority when designed.

I remember when I first visited 9 years ago it seemed like a much more new, vibrant city. Might have been my younger self rather than the city but the city felt very old (not in the cool, good way) when we went this time. The pre-Colombian museum is a must visit, but other than that I wouldn’t really go back. The food scene was okay too, aside from some great spots. Other international cities I’ve been to have left me overwhelmed with options, this city did not. Also, we really wanted to take a wine tour but the prices were insanely expensive to go just an hour outside the city and operators I contacted were not responsive.
I absolutely loved this hotel, which was a perfect peaceful sanctuary in a quiet neighbourhood of Santiago. I had a very comfortable, well-furnished room with en-suite. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I liked the communal area downstairs where you can help yourself to free tea, coffee, and juice at any time of day, and the breakfast is also very good.
The location is also convenient for exploring the city center, it's walkable to the main museums and the metro is also 20 minutes walk away.
You can't beat this location for convenience when transiting through Santiago Airport. We recently spent several weeks travelling through Chile and utilised this hotel twice when we had early morning flights. It is the only hotel on the grounds of the airport itself, located mere steps away from the Domestic terminal. The restaurant and bar have great options, and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we really appreciated the assistance with our luggage.
The décor in the whole hotel was awesome. The rooms were great but one of the room we were in was so noisy as it faced the street and the street noise went on till past midnight. The breakfast was ok. The breakfast room was a bit small though. Some of the desserts were yum. I guess we were comparing to previous hotels too as we were on a 40 day trip around SA and already had such a great experience in most of the other 5 star hotels.
The customer-facing hotel staff was the best part of this hotel experience. They had excellent recommendations on food and buying souvenirs, and partner with friendly, professional airport taxi drivers, all with great English language. We felt like we were in good hands on our vacation. The location is also a large plus next to the Lastarria restaurant district, Santa Lucia park, and Plaza de Armas with all the pedestrian paseos.
We loved this hotel! The location, although a bit far from downtown Santiago, is a really nice and safe area. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and there’s a metro station just down the street. The staff are absolutely lovely!!! The room was clean, bathroom was clean and breakfast was simple but great. The bathroom is a little small but it did the job! For the price, it was perfect!
Booked this hotel for a 13hr transit from Santiago Airport. The cost was much cheaper than the onsite airport hotel. It had a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel and back again so happy to save some $$$.
The reception was great. The restaurant was fine and suitable for the establishment.
Very happy we booked this hotel instead of sitting around in a transit lounge.
The experience at Solace was beyond expectations. Everything was perfect for us, for our honeymoon. Bedrooms, bathrooms, pool.. and the best for sure is the breakfast! It is spectacular and the staff really care if you are enjoying it. This hotel is also right by the San Pablo metro station, witch make it perfect for knowing Santiago.
It's not a large hotel but it is very modern and well equipped and very well staffed. Most importantly its location directly overlooking the Park Forestal, close to the very touristic Lastarria district, the MNBA and Bellas Artes station make it a very good choice indeed to visit Downtown Santiago on foot.
Very nice hotel close to airport with a complimentary airport shuttle. Rooms were clean and beds comfy. The bathrooms were spacious with an excellent shower! We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was very good. Would highly recommend a stay at this hotel before or after a flight.
My family and I were in transit to Easter Island. Very modern, comfortable and clean hotel. Good breakfast with a lot of options. Close to airport and with an efficient free shuttle to and from airport, which is ideal for connecting flights.
The hotel is in a safe and beautiful area. I am so glad we didn’t book a downtown hotel. It’s scary in the downtown at night. Everything was walk able at this hotel. The rooms are a little dated but safety exceeded our expectations.
Best Hotel in Town. I stayed at some 5 Star hotels in Santiago and this was way ahead of the others. Excellent service, good roomservice, nice restaurant. Well organised staff, clean and comfy room. All in all worth the money
Very good choice for our needs. Good restaurant and very friendly stuff. Free shuttle service from and to the airport, but make sure to talk about it in advance (especially to get from the airport to the hotel)
The hotel is beautifully designed situated in a fantastic residential and quiet location with easy access to downtown and shops. 2 amazing restaurants on the property, nice pool, friendly staff and service.
Excellent value for a decent Best Western. Twins beds were wider than at other hotels. Breakfast was more than adequate. Subway station is very close. Easy to get downtown.
