We received the studio room which was really lovely. Very comfy bed, a well equipped kitchenette, a very large and well appointed bathroom and a private entrance from the garden. Parking was excellently located and just a few steps from the room. The grounds are very pleasant although fairly limited as to how far you can go along the river. When we arrived (a bit earlier than planned) we got the room pretty quickly and were shown around. Due to the Covid situation no breakfast is served but we had a well organized kitchenette with a coffee machine (with capsules) and fresh milk in the fridge. A large Morrison's just a short drive away, so organizing meals in the room wasn't an issue. Location ideal for driving into the city and the train station is close by if you want to avoid the traffic and parking problems in town. Highly recommend visiting the Dalkeith Country park close by for beautiful walks!

It was more than we ever expected … gorgeous property & accomodation . Very comfortable . A quiet retreat if you want to just relax & reflect . Close to Edinburgh ( 20 minute train ride ) for a day trip from Glenarch House . Would recommend the train to Waverley station in Edinburgh . It’s a self catering property , so will need to work out meals for yourselves . Morrisons ( a supermarket) is relatively close for grocery shopping .

Location was excellent. Tucked away, surrounded by a large well kept garden making the property quiet and private. The room was a in a separate coach house annex with its own little patio area. Good coffee and tea making facilities and a small fridge.
