Then perhaps a walk around the lake, or try one of the many walks from Langdale’s garden; the ’coffin’ trail leading to Rydal, Alcock Tarn, Loughrigg or through Deerbolt woods into Elterwater. On returning you may see a woodpecker, deer or red squirrels scurrying over the lawns as you sit on the terrace sipping a drink.
