The Tower Hotel, London, hotel in London

Nestled between the River Thames and St Katherine’s Dock, and next to Tower Bridge, The Tower Hotel, London offers ideal location, a restaurant, a bar and a fitness centre.

Booking in great Booking a table for dinner - Awful as had sent two messages to book a table with no response 2 days previous and on day of arrival, and 3 or 4 frantic telephone calls on the morning of arrival which were all either cut off put on hold or put through to the wrong place, and not answered. Dinner in the evening in the view from the tower restaurant/bar was terrible, as food was very small in portion despite a request for a larger main meal, and food order was not explained properly that it would be a small portion and was also served up cold to luke warm and not very tasty (Fish and chips) If we were better informed that the portion size of food to be served up was small then we may have retreated elsewhere to eat in the evening rather than be subjected to the experience to follow and what was served. This stay was to celebrate my wifes 60th birthday as a treat to London with. stay over and theatre trip. Linton who we believe was the manager from the vicinity bar/restaurant assisted me with the dinner booking however he stated that the two restaurants/bars (Vicinity and View from Tower) had similar menus but different locations and that the view woud be more intimate, however the food there was hughly dissapointing and was initially offered additional chips which were served nearly 20 minutes later by which time all our food was stone cold and was barely lukewarm on initial arrival to table. We were then offered a dessert only of a vanilla cheesecake but having not eaten much of the dinner was not something we felt was appropriatte. We were later presented with the bill asking for full price of the food and a cocktail which we also had, not wanting to stay longer and feeling insulted I requested this to be put on the room bill, which then in the morning at checkout was removed in total with apologies on behalf of the manager via. one of the reception staff.

    I liked London.

I liked London. It is more orderly than other cities I have been to. I liked that I can just tap my credit card for train and bus rides. The Indian food we had for 3 days was great. And the choices of shows to watch was excellent. I have seen the museums before but the Van Gogh exhibit at the National Gallery was remarkable.

London is a stunning city with endless things to see and do—whether you're exploring historic landmarks, visiting world-class museums, or enjoying the vibrant cultural scene, there's always something to experience. The architecture, parks, and iconic sights like Big Ben and the Tower of London make it a truly special place. However, if you're Canadian, be prepared to dig deep into your pockets! With the exchange rate and the overall cost of living in London, things can get pricey fast. From food to transportation, the expenses do add up, so plan your budget accordingly.

We had high tea at the Dorchester hotel which was amazing - service was impeccable and the food was very high class. The tea and coffee were brilliant with even masala chai available. The walk through Kensington gardens and Hyde park to reach the Dorchester hotel was very pleasant. 2nd day we shopped on Kensington high street which was a good experience with lunch at Dishoom - first class- and ice cream at Amorini.

These aparthotels are located about 10 minutes walk from Aldgate East tube station which is well connected to get all over London. They are secure and accessed by key card swipe at all points of access. The room was a good size with a king size very comfortable bed. Bathroom was well equip with an excellent shower. There is a microwave, fridge and kettle in the room making breakfast easier as it is not provided at these apartments. We were able to store our cases prior to check in and after check out which was very helpful.

The hotel was in a good location, about a 10 minute walk to the tube, access to taxis and an easy walk to London CBD. The whole apartment building was beautifully maintained and elegant but our individual apartment needed a few repairs and was not of the same standard. Issues were dealt with by the office as quickly as possible. The apartment was clean, the bed was comfortable but if you are using the lounge room as a bedroom there is limited room.

The location is perfect for easy transportation into London or to Heathrow and Gatwick airports by all means of public transport. Having stayed many times by choice we love the intimacy of a smaller boutique hotel and the friendliness/helpfulness of all the staff from reception (front and office) to cleaners and Maintenance.Being very dog friendly is an exceptional bonus. We have stayed in all categories of room and the layout is very consistent.

Location was ideal, the staff were great, the shower was good (excellant water pressure), and the value for money was brilliant. Free luggage drop off was a plus too. Breakfast was included however wasn't utilised in my case. For roughly half the price of even the cheapest hotels in London, to see any of these amenities included was a welcome surprise.
