## The space As you enter the apartment, you will instantly experience a bit of the Portuguese style blended with a touch of tasteful modern decoration. The doors and the floor have been maintained and recovered from its original design - they're both very unique to Portuguese homes. Turn to your left and you will enter the dining area and the living room. This area has been designed to give you a great sense of spaciousness and comfort. The dining area/living room has two large windows which face trees and nature - don't worry about having privacy, you can enjoy the luxury of having no neighbours ahead, so feel free to open the windows and soak up in some warm Portuguese sun. Don't worry - if you stay with us during the winter, we have two portable oil heaters available for you. If you're having a meal during a pleasant or warm day - open the windows and enjoy what Portugal has best to offer, lovely local food & drink and sun. The decorations have been inspired by our culture and traditions which you will see reflected on the decorations including the large photographs of the Portuguese pavements and the famous São Jorge castle and the many hills of Lisbon. If you want to relax or socialise with your other guests, move onto the living room. We have a brand new extremely comfortable chez-long which can also serve as a double-bed. If you like to snuggle up in the sofa for some TV or web browsing - the sofa will surely facilitate a short snooze. If you're up for some socialising, there are two additional modern and cosy chairs in the living room which allow for a comfortable afternoon tea or just hanging-around. Again, if the sun is out - you will be able to enjoy it via the lovely double-glazed windows facing west and the sunset in the afternoon/evening. ## The neighborhood As you arrive at the building, you will feel the calmness of the street and pick up the friendly vibe from the residential neighbours. If you're coming from the top of the road you'll experience a bit of the Portuguese culture as you will pass by the lovely ceramics shop - Fábrica Sant'ana which has been open since 1741. Buy yourself a little souvenir to keep as a memory from your stay in our apartment. Near the apartment you have many local cafes, shops and restaurants. If you would like to go for a food shop, you have a large super-market, Ping Doce at an easy walking distance. If you like a cosy place for a coffee or sandwich lunch, make your way to A Lanchonete. We'd recommend you walk around and explore all the lovely small businesses around this area - it has a flavour of gastronomy, arts, history and culture all within walking distance. If you are an academic, you are a 5-minute walking distance from the Lusíada University. You also have the Egas Moniz Hospital just 400m away from the apartment should you need anything or if you are visiting/accompanying someone for treatments. If you like walking, cycling or exercising with a beautiful view, walk for less than 10 minutes and cross over one of the pedestrian crossings and make your way to the walk-way right in front of the Tejo River. Here you will find, the Docas which have many delicious local restaurants, you have the incredible Café In for a fresh meal or if you'd like to enjoy a stylish evening meal, visit SUD Lisboa for an incredible evening with amazing views. If you're in for some culture and arts, make your way to the Museum of Architecture, Arts and Technology (MAAT) or the Electricity Museum.
