Long line to get into the tower. Need to cross the park, overpass/underpass, and walk another 10 minutes to get there. So it takes at least 15-20 minutes to walk there from the bus stop. Views from the tower are not as spectacular as from Padrão dos Descobrimentos. They let 120 people in every half hour (60 with tickets and 60 without tickets). 6 Euros to go up to the towers. Highlight is the pasteis de nata. The best I've had. Cheapest (1.15 euro) and heavenly.
More or less a must, when in Lisbon. It is fun with children, as you go up and down, and can play soldier or princess as you wish in the rooms and levels of the building. Prepare for lines, even if you are with Lisbon card, as there is a set number of people who can be in the tower at the same time, plust tourists can go in only at .00 and .30 of the hour. Children can collect shells on the riverside meanwhile.
Beautiful building. Long lines to get up so we just viewed it from the outside. While in Belem, make sure you see the Jeronimos Monastery (get there early and purchase your ticket in advance) and visit the Royal Coach museum also in Belem. Great museum.
Be there when it opens as the lines are long or don't go. Climbing the tower requires many steps up and down on a staircase only wide enough for 1 person. It seemed dangerous and not well supervised.
Go really early - arrived 10-11ish - no queues - straight in went up the tower and took photos - when we came out OMG the queues were enormous stretching the length of the bridge - could have been tour buses ?? IF you are an OAP take ID for reduced rate was 3 euros - otherwise 6.
We were there early September. Very cool place but the crowds were intense. Hard to take pictures with so many people, but still glad we made the trip to see it. Definitely buy the tickets in advance. You will still have to wait but not as long. Even better visit during the off season.
Great location, near the Belem Tower and close to a very good bakery. Free parking in front of the house.
