This is a lovely little hotel in a great area. We walked a lot and it is close to both the Story and Kangaroo bridges. Being able to borrow bikes was a nice bonus! Having a little kitchen and complementary coffee, tea and cookies with a kettle was appreciated. Toiletries were also very nice. Free underground parking too!

The refurbishment is amazing and Sue is developing amazing team, great customer service The place is impeccably clean with very nice finishes. There is a bit too much going on in the rooms with furniture, it feels like the interior designer wanted to put ALL their preferences in the room.. however the choices of things like the nespresso, the coffee cups etc were spot on I would have LOVED if there was a bath Well done Sue, Tony and the team

FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-drenched & Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.

Brisbane is an amazing city. Young and full of life.

Brisbane is an amazing city. Young and full of life. QPAC is a credit to the State and a wonderful venue for the Arts. And of course, the Brisbane River and her City Cats are an added joy. Wheelchair accessibility is a positive plus for me. Without that I would not be able to attend shows like Fiddler on the Roof at QPAC.

Brisbane is a very compact city, most things are within easy walking distance of each other and the majority of CBD hotels. For those that aren't, the public transport is cheap ( currently 50 cents per journey -any length) on buses, and the city cat ferries. The ferries are a great way to see the city skyline both during the day and more so at night. There are a number of bridges across the Brisbane River all connecting with the bankside river walkways. Brisbane has some interesting "convict history" including both the windmill which was convict built and included a punishment treadmill, which provide back up for the poor siting and sails. The old "Commissariat Museum" on the waterfront gives a further insight to Brisbane's past. For those seeking a more peaceful option, the Botanical Gardens are a delight. Finally visitors should take the trip to the "Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary" whilst the Koalas are the stars, the range of native animals and birds and the informative free displays and talks make for a full days outing and just over the hour away by bus. A further thing, particularly if you get the night munchies, a must visit is the Manor Pancake House, open 24 hours. A wide selection of both classic "crepes" and "American style pancakes" both sweet and savoury, its a must at anytime of day. Gluten free and vegan options throughout the menu. Another couple of ways to see the city at night are from the roof top bars at the Star Casino and the Emporium Hotel on either side of the river.

Loved the hustle and bustle where we stayed.

Loved the hustle and bustle where we stayed. Very close to river, the eateries and easy to get in and out of the city - well sign posted. We ate Asian fusion, Turkish, and pub meals and experienced the roof top bar locations. Enjoyed a relaxing drink in the sun in the centre of town. Lots of options and choices for food and drink to suit any budget. Enjoyed the free tours at City Hall and the Clock Tower.

Parking was excellent! We find it one of the trickier factors in Brisbane and this garage and system was very easy and spacious! The apartments are a great size. The properly functional balcony and view is awesome too! The pool is clean and the tennis crt is great. Lots of great restaurants fairly close and the river cat into the city or Southbank.
