fab place to visit see where the dxxkheads run our country the towering big ben all tho in a shroud at the moment while its being updated the top half is now uncovered and i believe you can go in and see the interior as it really is a monument in its self
If your trip is only to see the clock tower and Big Ben, wait until at least 2023 as at present, it is being supported and is covered in scaffold. The bell is only rung on special occasions at the moment. The Houses of Parliament are visible as is the Abbey.
Big Ben is under construction right now and will be for the next three years (2022 completion according to a guard). You can only see the clock face under the scaffolding if you walk over the bridge and look back.
I went in May, when it was very cool in London and was not prepared for cold weather. If you go April or May, take a sweater. However Big Ben, though not so big by today's standards, was fabulous to see!
It’s wonderful ... though the area gets very busy ... once you have taken your photos I recommend.. walking back down the embankment.. stop off at the Hispaniola boat ... and have a cocktail .. watch the London eye , view Big Ben , from it !! The cocktails are wonderful .. £10 each but made to perfection!!! ... I was a barmaid for years and had 4 fantastic cocktails from this boat .. no disappointment at all ... would have stayed longer but I still had places to go
Usually a good photographic moment, but the scaffolding's been up for a few years and potentially up until 2021. It's right near Westminster Abbey and a wonderful location. Right near the Thames. A must see, with or without the scaffolding. Enjoy!
What a perfect hotel for our stay in London! The hotel is perfectly situated in Covent Garden right across from the Royal Opera House. It is on a very quiet side street, but just a very short walk to shops, pubs and fun! Walk a little further (20 minutes) and you can be at Big Ben/Parliament and Westminster Abbey. The staff at the hotel were very nice and helpful and the room was absolutely lovely and very comfortable. Such a wide variety of restaurants are nearby as is a tube station.
This is our second stay at the Club Quarters Hotel Covent Gardens. We like its location close to the Piccadilly Line which has direct connections from Heathrow. The hotel is in a quiet area. There is a park right across the street. We could walk to pubs and historic sites like Big Ben and the London Eye. The Club Quarters Hotel makes a really good home base when in London.
Location: The location of the hotel is great. It's a 10min walk from London eye and 15 min walk from Big Ben. Moreover, there is an underground station 100m from the hotel. Breakfast: everything you would expect from a 4star hotel. Room service: The possibility to order something at the room even late at night is very useful for travellers arriving late.
Great location, we loved being able to walk from hotel into Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and all the way down to Buckingham Palace and Big Ben - yes we could have hopped on a bus but it was a wonderful stroll and so enjoyed. Subway access a block away. The manager was so helpful when we had trouble trying to organize online cover testing.
The only redeeming quality about this was the location. I was able to walk to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Thames River, London Eye etc. This was helpful as I was alone and had a short visit so I wanted to be able to easily see the main sights of London quickly. Easy self check in.
The location was unbeatable. Being so close to the Waterloo underground was invaluable, as well as walking distance to several bridges, which got us into the north side of the Thames to see Big Ben, Westminster, etc. We were feet from the London Eye, and it was an easy walk to the Tate Modern.
Excellent location there are alot of take away restaurants, mini markets etc. very convinient particullarly for a family. Train station is about a minute from the hotel and in 20 - 25 minutes you can reach westminister (BIG BEN). There is a small but adequate parking in the property.
Fantastic location, 1min from a metro station, lots of places reachable on foot - Big Ben, London eye, etc. Same with places for food - there is a lot of choices around. Great staff at the check-in and check out, space to keep your luggage after you check out.
Hotel has very good location, close to the Big ben (15 min wolking), 2 min wolking from the Tube station and cafe. Clean room, all was very good
Location is excellent. So convenient nearby shops and restaurants short walk to Big Ben and the London Eye.
