Lovely hostel, the hostel owners were very nice and helpful. The location is not central, but we had a car and there were great options for restaurants and convenient stores near the hostel.

    The room is spacious and the ryokan style beds are comfortable. location is great. You can easily walk to explore Matsumoto castle and surrounding areas. The staffs were friendly and super helpful. We arrived on the rainy evening and the free shuttle bus from matsumoto station to the hotel was a life-saver. Breakfast is delicious with plenty of Japanese option. If I have a chance to visit Matsumoto again I'll definitely stay here again!!!

    I loved this hotel! Pretty spacious compared to those in Tokyo. Japanese beds are more firm than those in the US, but I don’t mind and found it quite comfortable. Was very clean and well kept and the location was unbeatable. 10 min walking distance from Matsumoto station, the castle, and to the shopping and restaurant streets. The staff was super friendly and helpful. If I knew Matsumoto would be this charming I would have stayed longer, and I definitely stay here again.

    A room was quite dated but clean and bigger than other hotel rooms in Japan. The beds were also big. The benefit of this hotel was the location. It was very near the Matsumoto station which was very convenient for us who would take the train early to Tokyo.

    Great location! It’s right across from the Matsumoto station and there’s a ton of restaurants nearby. This is a great place to stay if you plan to visit the mountains on a day trip. It’s super convenient and accessible location. After a long day of hiking, we’re glad we didn’t have to walk far to get to the hotel. The breakfast and drinks bar was a nice touch. The apple juice was delicious. The reception at the top floor had a beautiful view. And the staff were wonderful.

    The hotel is a very short walk from the Matsumoto Station and is right downtown and convenient to shopping and restaurants and walking distance to the castle. The room was clean, the staff helpful and friendly, the wi-fi work well, and the breakfast buffet had a good selection. I had a good stay there and would stay there again.

    This was a wonderful family run Ryokan. The staff were very warm and kind, gave good recommendations and offered bicycle rental to better navigate the city. The room was clean, comfy and welcoming. The public bath was excellent, designed very nicely and you can feel the good qualities of the bath. After checkout they even gave their visitors a lift to matsumoto station ! To summarize, best service quality and overall kindness that I've received in any hotel I've been to (Japan or elsewhere), facilities are clean and the room is cozy.

    the hotel is in a perfect location, 5 minutes walk from Matsumoto station with many connivence stores next to it. the reception was extremely kind, offering free drinks in happy hour every evening. the best part about the hotel is the bath house and amenities. a lot of free amenities and comfortable pajamas offered. and the bath house was so peaceful. next to the bath house your could find a free massage chair that is a great touch. comfortable stay with a spacious room and a luxurious bathtub.

    A brand-new hotel located about halfway between Matsumoto Station and the castle, this is honestly one of the nicest business hotels I've ever stayed at in Japan. Fabulous staff, great design elements and even a free snack (ramen or ice cream) in the evening. I'm so sad I only stayed two nights!

    This was perfect for a one night stay. Public bath is smaller than photos (men public bath is the one with bigger outdoor bath, not women, FYI) but otherwise super clean since shoes off before entering the hotel. Breakfast was superb (but definitely catered to more traditional Japanese taste) and don't forget to enjoy the free night noodle soup they offer, in addition to the free ice cream and yakult :) Would definitely come back again especially with convenient 5 min walk from Matsumoto station.
