It was an amazing experience!! Beautiful holiday decorations. Welcoming staff. Convenient to many DC treasures. (including the White House) We can't wait to stay there again. We also bought a holiday ornament of the Willard. I will always look at it with the fondest of memories.

All the museums are wonderful and free.

All the museums are wonderful and free. The postal and African American were amazing. Indian and Gallery of Art, too. Best in two hour bursts then grab a bite there or nearby. Use Ubers or public trans. Little parking. Weekdays less crowded.

The Smithsonian Institution is great. All museums are free.

The Smithsonian Institution is great. All museums are free. This was my 6th visit, and now I visited every museum of the Smithsonian. I particularly recommend the National Gallery, the National Museum of Natural History, and the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. The National Gallery has in my opinion the best painting ever made by Leonardo da Vinci, the portrait of Ginevra da Benci. This one is much better than La Jaconde in Le Louvre (and I am French...). Another Museum worth to visit for its paintings is the Phillips collection in Georgetown.
