The inn had a lovely personality, we were made to feel welcome and they made genuine attempts to accommodate our early arrival (we had an event to attend at a nearby venue). The room was cosy, with additional facilities I've not experienced elsewhere; the bed was huge, the bathroom clean and well equipped. There is a well-stocked bar with table or sofa seating; and the breakfast was delicious

The inn is situated on a junction, so quite a bit of traffic noise if your room is on the road-facing side. The breakfast service was a bit hit-and-miss: the wrong orders were brought out; they had run out of tea pots so missed part of the order

The staff are friendly and the pub is totally dog friendly, the location is great and the food was lovely. I love that they accept dogs in the rooms and the bar and restaurant. The walks in the forest of Dean are close and fantastic. The rooms are great (although a bit too hot for me) they have everything you need and are done out very well. I would highly recommend this pub for a stay and food.

There was a 30th birthday party during our stay and it was under our bedroom and quite loud and didn't finish till 11pm, it took a long time to be served (although they were busy) so even though they said to stay at our table and they would be over it was quicker to go to the bar ourselves.

Liz and Chris were perfect hosts. Very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Rocklea is in a great location and the breakfast, cooked fresh to order was amazing. Looking forward to staying there again.

Car park is not well signposted considering it is located on a steep hill. Room was very hot with no clear heater settings.

The property was close to the town centre.

It was a faceless experience. After booking was confirmed then I was expected to sign additional terms and conditions and rental agreements that was not made clear at time of booking. They also wanted me to share ID via an insecure email too. I was also forced into paying a £20 "security deposit" which was also mot made clear at the time of booking. It seems the owners are not aware of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. The bathroom had a toilet that proved difficult to flush without risking waking up others in the property due to the flush mechanism not working properly. Overall not happy with the experience.
