Beautiful building, centrally located in a lovely market town. We had the four poster room which was huge and really comfortable. Modern shower and great toiletries provided. Lots of little extras such as fresh milk and fruit. Breakfast the next day was superb. Hosts very friendly and very flexible with check in. Would absolutely recommend and return.

Very comfortable and had everything we needed and was very central. The owners manual was so useful and we were delighted with the range of appliances. Bonus was that we were able to bring our dog too.

Very close to main road and just because of the sheer volume of people in Ambleside, it was noisy at times. We were unable to open windows but that was the only negative of staying in such a central location. .

Very convenient for the Severn Valley Railway. Great breakfast and unlimited teas and coffees.

There is a fair bit of rowdiness on the street late at night, plus people talking and smoking just under our window

The welcome was wonderful and very friendly. The room was immaculate and very comfortable.

I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The host was very kind and we were welcome to use the kitchen but felt awkward.

grand old building and in centre of town

beds like laying on springs sleeping like a bannana, every floor board creaks the whole of the first floor, then whilst your trying to sleep you have the floor above creaking, not good, rooms verry old and dated,

Close to city centre.. Old world charm.

Difficult to park and unload luggage. Expensive when compared to comparable accommodation. Beds too soft and hot, with winter weight dooners - couldn't get a good night's sleep. Note there are long corridors with steps if wheeling your own luggage. Didn't enjoy the stay and would not recommend to others

The room was comfy.

A map of recommended eating place would have been nice to have. There was also no soap in the shower and the hand soap on the basin was missing the nossel.

Standard hotel tbh

I wasn’t able to use the gym facilities as I had a nightmare the night before which was due to the hotel phones playing up, it ended with me sat in the reception for two hours to also be greeted by 7-8 police officers arresting or accompanying them off the premises…this incident with the phone lines has potentially ruined my marriage. It definately ruined our anniversary.. I would like a full refund please
