We loved the stay, and enjoyed many full-day walks, with interesting destination in all directions, with Chatsworth house and Curbar Edge being particular highlights. The living room had a cosy fireplace that was great while relaxing with a movie (they had Harvey on DVD which I had wanted to see for years!)

Not too much to do in Youlgreave itself for a longer stay (it does have a couple of pubs/restaurants though), so I would only stay here if plan was to be out of the village most of the time.

The phone charging point was broken, went to reception and they didn't have a charging point either. This is a basic requirement

First, the main entrance is not very obvious, I parked there on a dark rainy night and took me a while to realise that the door I was trying to open is just a locked side entrance (the door in front of the main road, no signage to show where the reception is). Check in system was interesting, but I would have preferred that the receptionist would just give me my card instead of training me for 10 minutes on how to program the card myself on the console. The hallway on lvl 5 is not very clearly highlighting where the lifts are. Again, I was trying to open a "staff only" door on level 5 before I realised I have to go around on the other side of the building to find the lifts. No clear signage on the hallway (dangerous in case of a fire to show a fire exit which is locked, if you ask me). Thirdly, the breakfast was a slightly weird experience. A few suggestions: put forks and knifes next to the plates, put some cups next to the juice and water, (not on the opposite side of the bar), don't offer reheated potatoes cooked more that 24 hours ago, try to buy better coffee, it doesn't cost much more, but I believe it will make a difference long term to your business.

Location was great. 😊 once you get into the property: disaster. Cracking floors, dirty carpets and the narrower stairs i have ever seen. Even though staff knew where we stayed and had luggage they did not offer to help. The room was small but ok, had a tv and twin beds and water pressure was great. Sadly the sheets felt a bit dusty on the touch and quite unclean in general. Mirror was too high up so had to buy one to fix hair or had to climb up the toilet. No air condition, just a dusty fan that made the room even dirtier. Opening the window wasn’t an option as we already found and freed a wasp and the window pane was extremely dirty. No housekeeping was offered. On the last day staff member knocked on our door 30 mins before check out to remind us of said check out which i found ridiculous. Overall great location and glad i found a place with twin beds but no chance i am visiting again.
