Good value for money if you just want a room for the night, so you don’t have to clock watch and worry about catching the last train or paying Uber costs to get to another area/hotel further away - The Guest House is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Huddersfield. Some of the other reviews are a little unfair and I suspect possible language barriers, misunderstanding or not reading instructions properly/correctly as the code needed to access the guest house/room keys is sent to you via text message, but you have to text the Guest House owners on a provided number first once you arrive - Which was very straight forward and the keys were there ready for us inside the secure key box outside!

Room 1 was not as it’s described, it’s located in the basement to the left of the foot of the stairs and directly opposite the communal kitchen: Two metres away! - Toilet and small sink is under the stairs, about a 10 metre walk away from Room 1; It has no window or a working extractor fan - Toilet roll is provided, but you have to take it with you to and from the room, along with the room keys so you can lock your room door and also get back in again. The shower cubicle space is directly opposite the toilet room, again no window! - No idea about the extractor fan as I decided it was safer not to use the shower as anyone else in the building also has access to it and it just didn’t feel safe or comfortable to do so - My companion also refused to use the shower for the same reasons! The room itself is the same as the main image on the Guest House profile, only a lot more aged and usage beaten. The double bed is two separate pieces pushed together, the mattress is basic and like lying on metal slinkys. The bedding was clean, but only one hand towel was provided and there were no toiletries, not even a bar of soap in the toilet room… The free standing fridge in the room hummed all night, a TV next door or above was on loud all night, it was very humid and warm with little ventilation - The one window does not open! The property may have short or long term residents (One who we met was very friendly and polite) as they’re were people’s shoes on a shoe rack, a fold away bike and unopened letters/mail near the front door. No bad or foul smells though and we didn’t see the sign about not opening a certain door due to rats, but we did hear a lot of pouring water behind a door near the front door, possibly from a broken overflow or waste pipe…

Location was great for us. Facility, was very clean, spacious and well presented. Everything was as presented and we would look to use again and recommend to others.
