Our host Ruth is hospitable & friendly ! The hostel is located in an amazing location with a great view of the sea and surrounding nature. Benches with fire pits for BBQ are located in the garden. Two restrooms are available for the guests staying in the dormitory at the main house. The shower was located in a single cabin outside the main house. Both the restrooms & the single shower bathroom were clean and spacious. Clean towels were provided at the dormitory. The dormitory where the beds are located are separated into three rooms with curtains and are spacious. A small sink with potable water is also located within the dormitory. A big kitchen equipped with all necessary kitchen utensils and electrical appliances is located at the ground floor and dinning room/common room place is located at the same place. Board games are available in the dining room/common room !

Shampoo and shower gel could be provided in the list of amenities. Toasters could also be included in the electrical appliances of the kitchen and picnic tables to be placed close to the firepit places in the garden to allow for eating outside after BBQ :)

• From the moment I arrived the customer service I received was exceptional! I am terrible with names, however, it was a young man working on the 16/5 who checked me in. • The room itself was very nice. Spacious and sufficient wardrobe space too. Comfortable bed - I mean, really comfortable! • I had reserved a table for an early dinner at the pub for later. Atmosphere was very friendly throughout the evening. P.S. best scampi I’ve had in a long while! • Going back to customer service and staff, they were all brilliant. Even post shift, and those on their day off. • I would definitely recommend The Crosskeys.

• The only negative would be the location of my room. Unfortunately it was - seemingly - above the main entrance below. The door to which would close with a loud noise/bang each and every time someone arrived, or departed from the pub. Which I suppose would be an issue if you had an early start the next day, potentially. • That being said, I would definitely recommend the pub/hotel and hope to be back!

The location was ideal for Stanstead airport The room was beautifully decorated in a very relaxing shade of green. The room had everything you needed for a short stay. It was very modern and well set out so that all space was utilised. The shower was particularly great. Looking out onto the gorgeous garden was a bonus and it was so quiet. We had parking for our car and walked to the most gorgeous local pub for dinner. I had left a very special item behind and was most upset. Wendy assured me that she would post it home to Australia. That is service above and beyond and most of all, just really kind hosts.

When we arrived there was an envelope for us with the key for our room as well as directions to get there. We knew the room was upstairs. The stairs were steep and the manager said he would see if he could put us downstairs for the next three nights. We were able to move next morning but after two nights had to go back upstairs as he said he had rented the downstairs room. For our second stay we had booked the downstairs room. There is a bookcase with a good selection of reading. The breakfast baskets are pleasant. There is a supermarket nearby. The female staff were always friendly and helpful.

The heating didn't come on until around 6pm each day even though it was cold during our stay. There was bread and a couple of croissants in the breakfast baskets. During our second stay there were only two croissants in the basket and when we asked about this were told they had no bread. Next morning the basket contained two croissants and some slices of supermarket bread.

i did kike the breakfast but particularly liked the location. The hotel was within easy reach of both the castle and the cathedral. It was within comfortable walking distance of the city c entre too. Overall the location was ideal

Staff were attentive and quick to meet our requests, even upgrading us without any discussion. Allowed us to stay an hour longer than the normal check out free of extra charge. I appreciated their flexibility.

Good location; en-suite bathroom was very good and the room spacious. The breakfast was good but the cooked food lacked variety e.g. fried tomatoes and mushrooms, and the scrambled egg was over cooked.

Comfy Room with good view. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good evening meal and excellent breakfast. In the evening lot of flexibility eating out until it got chilly and then moving inside.
