Positive section of review
Really well located. Absolutely everything in walking distance. Modern amenities and well kitted out, provided a great base for us while visiting Southampton for a wedding. Useful to have the extra adds like coffee, soap, shampoo etc available. Gaining access and leaving was super straightforward.

Bit noisy, but to be expected given its central location. I’ve seen a few people note this, so I’m sure it’s a given when booking. You’re also by the communal door so you’ll hear everyone coming and going. The regularly cleaned/ changed items - like kitchen surfaces, bathroom, linens etc were all great. Items that need a less regular but occasional clean are in need of that occasional clean - fan and shutters covered in dust, kettle and coffee machine need a descale etc. but all very reasonable otherwise. At time of booking, the listing noted a free carpark allocated to the apartment but follow up information received day before noted this was not the case. Perhaps this is made clear… I missed it. Paid parking is available.

Freshly prepared and good choice of breakfast. Nice friendly helpful staff Calling to see if we needed food as our arrival was late, and offering to keep kitchen open if we were nearly there. Fortunately did not need but a nice touch.

Coffee was mediocre-too weak! The only down side was it was quite noisy from passing traffic at night.

The accommodation was clean, had everything we needed and in a great location to reach everything in the city by bus. Chris was really helpful too with a question I had and responded very quickly. Great value for money.

Breakfast was very good, good value for money. Should use locally sourced ingrediants....sausage and bacon especially, local eggs and mushrooms would be a bonus although we all really enjoyed it

Dinner was a little dissappointing, had the wrong steak delivered even tho I stressed 2 or 3 times I like it very well done, came out on the rareish side and had to wait an additional 40 minutes for a freshly cooked one, everybody else had finished theirs by the time mine arrived, 2 of the 4 of the group enjoyed the meal although there was a small issue with the other steak....which was also returned as it was slightly overdone for his liking only to have it returned the chef stating it was cooked perfectly well. One of the 2 starters had a small "ziplock" type piece of plastic in it so more care needed there. Overall it is a lovely hotel well placed on the main street with access to other eateries and pubs
