The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Barton Hall itself was a delight. Quaint, comfortable, clean and traditional. Location was perfect. 10 min walk into Pooley Bridge and so, so pretty. Best bit for me was meeting the staff and guests - very warm and welcoming. Special thanks to Jackie and Ailsa. Breakfast was great too, good choice. Myself (Richard), Rob (not Ben Ailsa!) and Stacy loved it. We'd love to come back again.

Nothing. We liked everything :-)

Good location and spacious room, although we'd booked the 3 person room for 2. Staff were good but we did hear one customer complaining to the reception about stuff stolen or someone uninvited in their room.

The room's noise insulation (or whatever it's called) needed work, esp between floors - we could hear anyone walking around in the floor above very clearly and noisily, making it difficult to fall asleep.

Incredible location and views, staff very friendly and we had plenty of peace and quiet even in the public areas (clearly plenty of guests staying, but didn’t feel like they’d packed us in like sardines!)

Toilet placement in the room’s bathroom was a bit claustrophobic- I dare say a heavier set man wouldn’t have even fit on it! Also the breakfast situation seemed a tad disorganised with all three waiting staff focused on the free continental buffet, and proved difficult to flag down to order anything else from the kitchen such as the full English.

Very convenient for the open air theatre and the seafront. Room was nice and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and Kate even ironed my husbands shirts for him. Breakfast was good.

Attention to detail on the cleanliness. The salt was empty and it got refilled but pot which was smeared, not wiped. the wall next to the window table could have done with a wipe too around the radiator. Nothing wrong with the bathroom , spotless but its maybe and idea to sit down in restaurant ,as if a customer, and look at things. Very minor point but slightly offputting

But my sleep experience wasn't good. Woke up to clanky noise at 6.30 going of for hour, dont know if it was the pipes. I was put right next to the door to exit the floor. So everytime people came in and out, it would slam and wake me up. I was above the reception so the noise from people coming in kept me awake people arguing outside. The maid trolley was loud and squeaky coming on floor at 9am when your trying to sleep aswell. I've came back home like I've not had any sleep at all. Exhausted.
