Early check in appreciated. Staff at reception pleasant and helpful. Single room adequate for overnight stay but might struggle if lots of bags. Room clean and bed comfortable. Did not have cooked breakfast however more than enough choice for continental breakfast. Excellent location for Royal Albert Hall with underground stations and bus stops within 5 minutes. Would stay again.

It’s the second time I’ve stayed at the Shireburn Arms and recommend it as it is set in wonderful countryside, the staff are very helpful and friendly and I thoroughly recommend the fare. There is a good menu to choose from, the food was excellent, very generous portions and very fairly priced. The bedrooms are a good size, very comfortable and very clean.

The doormen were courteous and attentive. The lobby is large and welcoming. Bar and restaurant service was variable though the food was very good. Room service was quick and delivered very good food. Large room, for a UK hotel, with many stylish touches. There is an excellent art program which operates throughout common areas.

There was no concierge and, therefore, no distinct offer from the hotel and its staff to ‘go the extra mile’ as befits a 5-star hotel. Pillows were terrible. First night - Sunday - service in the bar was poor. No proactive service as empty glasses and water jugs sat around. The manner of service belied a lack of staff training. We popped in for drinks with friends a couple days later and an older guy was running a much tighter ship. The hotel is well situated if you want to be out of the thrum of downtown. Due to the development of the city the hotel is now penned in by apartment and office blocks. A vertical garden and other conscious green spaces would help soften the sense of being surrounded by brick and concrete. I rate this place as a very good/excellent 4-star hotel but struggle to see it as 5-star. In fairness, the hotel is priced like a 4-star.

Breakfast was just instant porridge and coffee. The room was fabulous - every last detail was made to make our stay comfortable.

Attention to the towels would be good. Not as white anymore and an odor that wasn't pleasant when they where wet from drying off.

Nice quiet location, good breakfast and clean room. Also only a short walk to a pub for an evening meal.

Good parking. Well equipped.

Television needs to be replaced, plus remote did not work properly and picture kept pixellating badly. Bed not comfortable/large enough for us. Microwave tucked away in a cupboard, heavy to lift out.
