It was so good to have our own space but at the same time have a living room and kitchen to spend time together in. The place was very clean to the point even my OCD mum made compliments. Staff were very friendly and well presented. Car park was perfectly situated at the back with multiple spaces. We didn’t use the service however, thought it was great you could order food and drinks and go collect them from downstairs.

One lift wasn’t working and then the day we left the second lift broke too. Luckily we were on the 1st floor however, being pregnant trying to get a case downstairs was a bit of a nightmare.

First impressions weren't good - stairs to first floor (where the apartment is) fairly shabby, and apartment initially seemed to confirm the 'shabby' view - felt like 1960s student accommodation. Unfairly - it's 'shabby chic' not 'shabby'. BUT - apartment's for 4, and only 3 comfortable chairs. And it was a devil of a job working out how to switch the TV from Netflix to Freesat.

Felt very unwelcomed by staff on arrival, cabin crew were arriving and felt like that’s all staff were interested in. When getting ready to go out someone walked into our hotel room. Staff did deal with this, stated it was the cleaner and sent some drinks to our hotel room to apologise. Bed was dirty, pillows were basically yellow. Air con only stayed on for short while and only went to 19 degrees so room was very hot. Safety deposit box would not stop beeping. Phone to reception did not work. After previously staying at different Clayton hotels I am extremely surprised.

- noisy reception with a wedding and no control on noise - staff were not very receptive to guests - showers were the worst I've used in a hotel - The spa area was dirty with mud and litter
