destination reviews from real travellers

How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

We only liked going to Broadstairs via cab as the Burchington Vale Holiday Park where we stayed at the camping pod felt like we were staying on a building site and looked more like a council estate resort park !! So our places of interest into town and the beaches in Broadstairs, Ramsgate, and Westgate were more welcoming and interesting to visit and see than the resort we were staying at!!

    • Negative section of review

      > The camping pod on our arrival had spider webs outside and inside the pod. > Despite the time spent on jet washing the pods and cleaning them throughly before guests checked into their camping pods, ours weren't very clean. > When complained to reception about our issues, we were told by Jackie that due to staff shortages, I will do my best to dust our pod. When she came, she cleaned it a little & then gave us the feather duster & wipes to do this ourselves, which we felt shocked & appaled by this attitude. As she was about to leave, she coincidentally found my phone outside the doorstep, which clearly was picked up by her & put their so she could be praised for noticing my phone!! > The sharing female and male toilets 5 mins from our pod was unacceptable due to the lack of cleaning with spider webs and insects on the ceiling near the lights, in the shower units, floor and sink area. > We felt the shower temperature was again unacceptable due to the water being very hot and almost scalding our body when washing the shower gel off. > The lighting area around the toilets was very poor and at times was dark and felt a bit scary, so I had to be accompanied by my partner to feel safe. The path was very stony and bumpy, so you felt yourself having to walk carefully, especially if wearing high heels. > When asked about the swimming pool during mid week of our stay, we weren't properly told about the passes on our check-in arrival. So when this member of staff at the swimming pool told us of this, we just felt let down by his level of customer care and didn't bother using this facility. > Finally, the resort bar and entertainment at times were quiet. The drinks, food, and breakfast were very expensive and overly priced.

Creekside Lodge is the perfect place to stay. You relax and unwind the moment you arrive…with the sound of the babbling stream and the bird song. Peaceful, relaxing environment…and a beautiful well appointed little Lodge, where everything you need is supplied. Jackie is so welcoming, warm and helpful. A Jem of a place.

      1. What did I think of breakfast? How is that a relevant question to ask about a self catering holiday? I made porridge, it was fine. 2. The location was good. Its a quiet place with a few shops and restaurants, and safe sandy bays ,ideal for families

I liked that these cabins are unique to anything I've stayed in before... Shower was good, the idea of what you have is good just could do with a few improvements.

    • Negative section of review

When I arrived I wasn't informed that my cabin had in fact been changed. I went to 3 different farms before finding this one. Signage on the road at the entrance would be good! I pulled up at the cabin I was told was mine but there was no key in the lock box. So I walked around to find someone else in my cabin. I finally found some signal to call the owner and they then informed me of the change they then also told me the people in my original cabin had the same issue and they were sorry. I accepted their apology but at that point you should have then messaged me ahead of time (they knew I was arriving late evening) Would have saved me the embarrassment of walking in on another guest!!!! I then couldn't work the TV. It was SO slow and nothing would load so watching that was out of the question. I went to put the fire on as I was freezing & the heating wasn't doing much but there was no wood etc in the cabin for me to use? It was raining and cold outside and I couldn't find a wood storage etc anywhere. You could benefit from a few tweaks. First of all wood for your fire. A booklet maybe explaining all the things. The WiFi code on your wall contains capitals but the code is in fact lower case so it wouldn't work at first. Some nice blankets would have been a nice touch and kept me warmer than I was. I was in the middle cabin and if the one on the right looked out their window they would have saw straight into my cabin. They are not very private. Now I am used to equestrian centres as my daughter who came with me rides & we used to own a horse of our own. But the smell that was all around outside there wasn't pleasant and wasn't the usual farm/horse smell I have no idea how to even explain it but it wasn't pleasant at all. It could be wonderful, a few extra touches and it would have made my stay so much more special. But the mix up at the beginning really wasn't acceptable 😭 it was pretty awful.

The owners gave the worst service I've ever had with any booking before. They didn't send any email or messages via booking.com about how to get into the building or witch rooms where mine etc. So when I tried to get a refund they lied & said they sent everything on the booking.com app when I received nothing!.
