How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The apartment is next to the beach, across a small road. There is almost no traffic on the road. Fish, fruit, very tasty watermelons are transported in cars. You will have 2 sunbeds and an umbrella on the beach. Walk 6 minutes to a new large discount supermarket with good prices. This is a family business. A very nice, friendly family. So nice. Absolutely lovely stay. Attending a trade event nearby, we arrived a little tired and were made so welcome not only by the owner, Dawn, but by the regulars in the bar too! Nothing was too much trouble for anyone - the staff were amazing, our room was absolutely lovely, the food was absolutely beautiful - we tried the specials and haven't eaten anything as truly delicious in a long time😋 and to top it all, our elderly dog was treated to biscuits and gravy despite his unfortunate mishaps - thank you so much Dawn, you are a true Diamond xxxx Will return again in a heartbeat if ever we are in the area x ( that's if you'll let us?🫣) xx

As a woman staying in a hotel alone for the first time I was very pleased with the hotel and how safe I felt during my stay. The hotel is a pub but the hotel rooms are in a separate building which was nice as it meant I could get to my room without having to go through a busy pub. Check in was very quick and easy and there is a box for key drop off so no need to formally check out. The room was very clean and fairly spacious, perfect for what I was after!

I feel like there should be a separate check in desk from the pub bar

  • Marrington apartment, central location, Buxton

Whilst the location wasn't central it was only a 10 minute walk to the town centre, which we didn't mind. The area was quiet (apart from the church bells). The kitchen/diner was very nice and well equipped (apart from no egg cups). Buxton is a really nice place. We enjoyed walking through the parks and visiting the numerous good pubs, bars and restaurants. We will definitely visit again.

We would have preferred a walk-in shower in the first floor bathroom (rather than a bath) but it wasn't a problem.

On arrival was offered a drink and a sit down also told a little about the place. Breakfast was bacon sausage egg beans and tomatoes and toast. Cereal juice x breakfast was lovely and hot which is an added bonus by. Plenty of space for clothes ceiling fan and iron and board on landing if required, also hairdryer. Alan and Kath were great hosts.

Staff were absolutely exceptional and really went the extra mile to make sure our needs were met. Decor was lovely and blended the historic elements with modern comforts very well. Meals (dinner and breakfast) were lovely.

    • Negative section of review

As you might expect from a historic building, the floors are a bit squeaky and uneven in places. Also there can be a bit of noise from the street outside. However, these were really minor inconveniences and to be expected from the age of the building!
