It looked nice from the front but didn’t look like the above photo from the back, grass was over grown. Although old and had character it was very dated, black tape on the worn out carpets, not very inviting. The front reception are and afternoon tea area looked lovely but then was let down by the rest. Especially the random hanging coat hanger rails in end of reception didn’t really add to the ambiance. The breakfast was nice and the staff very friendly and helpful but it didn’t wow me and so I would look for somewhere also to stay next time I’m afraid.

There were several aspects of my stay which were far below standards. Anna from reservations was helpful.

Very small room, even too small for two travelers bringing luggage. No kettle in the rooms (which one might expect considering the price and standards in GB/ UK).

It would have been better if some of the rooms had en-suite, the gravel and slope down to the barn was steep and needed to watch your step both my friend and I fell

Although the location at the coast was lovely the one road driving up to it was impassable (would literally need a tractor) and the road from the other direction was also quite dangerous as full with big pot holes too but much more useable

The property is sad. No elevators, old fashioned rooms, toilets with broken flush. We didn’t get any dinner at the hotel as the restaurant was entirely booked and we were not given any prior notice about it.

Noise transfers up through the floor into our room from the dining room. They dragging stair over the floor to set up breakfast. This was at 10.30 to midnight . Completed twice
