I got there before check in time and rang the bell to see if I could cheekily check in early as I had a family funeral to attend. He asked if I could come back in half an hour and sure enough I was able to freshen up after the 5hr drive. If you're looking for somewhere to put your head down this is the place...no thrill's but the room was clean and was perfect for what I needed for the night.

The location of the hotel is perfect. However, at midnight we found out that a mouse was in the room scratching one of our bags. We immediately told the reception and they found another hotel for us in the next hour...

Location and cleanliness was superb as well as facilities in room. Very modern and tastefully done - large shower which was awesome.

The only negative thing was that the pillows were not to my liking (too hard) but everything else was superb so can’t complain.

This hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment and a deep clean . Our allocated room had underwear from a previous guest under the bed and gin bottles in the wardrobe,the whole room was grubby and clearly had not been cleaned properly. All communal staircases and lift are very dirty and sticky . After speaking to reception re the above we were given an upgrade to another room which was at least clean with no hidden nasties . This hotel has only one lift for guests this broke down so all guests had to use a staff lift not ideal for disabled guests as it was very small and a heavy door to open and a cage lift . This hotel looks very tired on the outside,the reception area is nice plus the restaurant and bar area all good,it's when you step behind reception to head to the rooms that you see just how shabby it is .

Perfect location as we were walking the Limestone Link. Car park was large.

Paying a premium price for a room at the Rose & Crown it’s seems abhorrent you are expected to pay for a continental breakfast. I would recommend the Riders Rest Cafe 5 minutes drive away. The correspondence with the property from booking until arrival was prompt but always fractious. On arrival we were running late but this was dealt with in a rather impertinent manor by the staff.

I should have found out about it bring a dog friendly establishment, we won't be going back because of that fact, we know dog lovers let their pets share their bed, that might be good at home but not when others have to sleep in the same bed
