      The room was clean, comfortable and furnished to a high standard. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a real treat - better than a lot of hotels we have stayed at. The location was quiet and calm, with a view of a donkey out of the bedroom and breakfast room windows - who wouldn't want that (OK, maybe that is just me!)?

      It was really comfortable, great location, nice and peaceful! Really comfy beds, we ate in the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast and both were really nice. The room was very high spec!

      Sofa bed was uncomfortable. Pigeon cooing started very early morning, but it is a seaside location and top floor apartment.

      Garden at front with tables, plenty parking and close to Lochranza Ferry port. Excellent Sandwich Shop close by for a bacon roll and coffee in the morning.

      There were several issue and problems with our booking and stay. The owners offered an unsatisfactory response to the multiple failings. Firstly, a day before arriving (Friday), I received an email stating that “following recent customer feedback” they had reduced the rate from £173 to £100. There was no further explanation given for this change. I figured it was probably due to the very high initial price, as a cost of £100 would have been about right. Upon check out (see end of review) this promised was dropped. On the day we arrived (Saturday), over three hours after checking in (where we had been shown to two rooms instead of one — which I queried and was assured several time ms to be correct) I received a phone call and voicemail message from the owner at 10:30pm accusing me of incorrectly booking my stay for only one adult instead of four and to “call him back URGENTLY”. In actual fact, it turned out the hotel’s booking system had an error (which they should have easily spotted when four of us arrived and were shown to the room.) The tone of the owner on the phone was harsh and totally unnecessary, especially as the error had nothing to do with my end of the booking as I emailed proof to show. I kindly agreed to help them out of a difficult position by allowing the staff to move our bags to one room as we were in Lamlash finishing dinner and seeing some friends and that we would return the key to the additional room the next morning as we would be back around midnight and did not want the staff to have to wait up. The owner agreed to this. We arrived back at the hotel at 12:20am and found no one at reception so proceeded to the room. At 2:15am (Sunday), I was awoken by four telephone calls and two voicemails to my mobile from the hotel reception asking when I was going to be returning to the hotel… (despite having been back for almost two hours…).
