The hotel was set in beautiful grounds, which made for a perfect getaway. It was also in a great location for accessing some of the best parts of Suffolk by car. The hotel itself was spacious, with plenty of areas outside and inside to sit and relax. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast, which was included with the booking, was excellent. The gym was absolutely superb with fantastic modern equipment and was just the right size for a hotel gym.

Overall, we expected more for a hotel in that price category. The room itself was not much different to what you could get at a Premier Inn at a much cheaper rate. Particularly irritating was the noise in the rooms - the walls were clearly thin and you could hear people talking/the television in the next room. We had also booked the hotel to use the swimming pool, only to find this closed for ongoing repairs. We didn't eat at the restaurant because we felt the menu was limited and pricey - we found better options elsewhere.

The whole experience of Gleneagles is fabulous. All the staff extremely helpful and polite and go above and beyond. My partner was treated to a couple of birthday extras that wasn't expected which made the stay even more memorable. Nothing can be faulted, just perfect. Superb room.

Only one toaster at breakfast. I couldn't get booked for dinner 5x days in advance. It does say booking advised. So book early as it says.

On the photos, there were 2 single sofa beds, while there was just one double sofa bed. This caused a bit of annoyance as our kids really don't sleep well on one bed, they keep kicking each other. It's not a major thing as we only sleep one night.

It was good value for money, the room was of a good size.

The rooms are very outdated, the beds very uncomfortable (me or my partner would move and it would jerk the other awake as it was very springy), the room itself didnt feel or look clean especially the bathroom, there were 4 plug sockets for a family room (we had to bring our milk machine and steriliser for our 4 month old so was juggling with plugs throughout stay), car parking permits were rather expensive for a whole weeks stay (other properties offered these free when we last stayed so not sure why we had to pay £8 for the exact same slip this time around).
