Warm and informative welcome on arrival. Nice quiet, clean room and hotel, stay and location. Walk accross the road to reach sea front walk. View to the sea from the bedroom. Would stay again but book a larger room. I didn't wake in time for breakfast so can't comment on it however I was shown the fridge in the kitchen with food for a help yourself breakfast. ,

Single room with sea view was smaller than expected. Would have prefered more space but okay for one night. An essential item missing from the bathroom.

Location was excellent. The cafe not opening until 9am though meant it was quite late to have a breakfast, particularly if you are an early riser. Apart from the Petrol Station which has a Spar supermarket and opened at 8am no where else opened before 9am. Would recommend the Lock Inn for food in the evening. Good location and excellent food.

Room was very clean and comfortable. The light in the room though to illumuniate the door in the room during darkness, I assume the emergency light, was far too bright. Very difficult to sleep due to the luminous green shining in the dark. Ended up buying an eye mask from a local shop!

Great reception on arrival, and the hotel and room are very clean and 'neat'. The only meal I had was breakfast, which was served quickly and was excellent.

Parking! For the number of rooms the available parking is nowhere near adequate. I had to park in the 'pay & display' down the hill. It's not far, but it's fortunate I don't have any mobility issues as if so it could cause a problem as the hill, while short, is relatively steep.

The photos.. The reality was not like the photos, It’s basically a house of multiple occupency. The bathroom has all used men’s wash stuff set out as if you were just staying the night so they stayed somewhere else. Dirty cups in the kitchen, no kettle. All windows in the building left open but still stinks of damp…. And weed. Another occupant from down stairs (apparently) Was at the back door. Door wide open and they smoking weed outside the door. As a family 2 young ladies and with a 60 year old mother. We did not feel safe there. Yes the price was cheap but it’s really not worth the stress. Customer service terrible. We stayed at the property not even 10mins and left as it wasn’t safe and secure there were youths in groups outside the building under the windows. I explained the situation and asked for a refund as we then paid to stay at the Britannia international hotel, (which was Definetly worth the money). “Flat” the shard owners need to think really hard about what they want with their “flat” and how they advertise. Genuinely biggest dissapointment. Just not a nice place; atmosphere or customer service.

We went in March, and it was very cold indeed and the heater provided did not warm us up enough. We could see our icy breath in the bathroom. It would be better in the summer

Fire alarm going off at seven in the morning but these thing happen handled very professionally and the staff could not be more apologetic gave us all something to talk about.
