Upon arrival we were greeted by Phil, who explained we were their first guests and he showed us around their beautiful holiday home. Phil and Velda have renovated The Coach House to a very high standard, it's the perfect escape for a couple with secure parking. It offers a beautiful private courtyard, ideal for alfresco dining, with Alnwick only about 5 miles away for all your shopping needs and secluded beach on a 25 minute walk away. Overall this is an ideal couples retreat and we wish Phil and Velda all the best for their future venture. Charlie and Kim

We saw this delightful coach house and although there were no reviews, we thought nothing ventured, nothing gained ! There was nothing to dislike about this property, it's fantastic....and if you're looking to stay in Longhoughton, this should be your 'go to' destination.

We stayed in the rooms across the car park from the hotel on the ground floor this time. Room was nice, clean and everything you'd need for a night. Staff are always lovely here.

The bed. It was so soft, me and my partner kept rolling into the middle together. I woke up with backache as this bed was just not firm at all. Also didn't like the car park light that shone right into our room, the curtains are not black out curtains. The room was very bright all night. This is not the hotels fault, but these rooms across the way are not sound proof at all. Was very noisey at times. At 5 in the morning someone who was parked right outside our room, decided to start their van up and let it run for over 10 minutes while they were in and out of building. They kept slamming their van door over and over as they filled their van up with their gear from their room. I would suggest staying in the main hotel when staying here to get a better night's sleep.

Updated cosy apartment. Quiet, overlooking lovely gardens. Very handy for horse drawn tram. Very good hosts, good communication and quick to respond.

Overall…loved it. Nicely decorated and very comfortable. One minor snag was washbasin in bathroom took time to drain. Another (very minor) issue is that (as vertically challenged females) we couldn’t reach the side plates on top shelf in kitchen cupboard ….but hey…we’re happy to eat toast using a saucer.

Not a dislike, but a comment. There are 3 Devonshire Arms Hotels within close proximity in the area. I have found it confusing in the past.
