Staff friendly, great location but The Gore is extremely tired, especially the rooms (see pics) and not worth the rate paid. Disappointing, we celebrated our wedding there 20yrs ago, I don't think it's been touched since then.

Rooms were in very poor condition considering the rate. Ripped curtains, cracked floor tiles and walls. Charged service charge for room which cancelled out any discount on this site.

The pub overlooks a beautiful Green which is a great outlook. The room was clean & bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious & served by a polite & courteous young man. We will definitely book again.

Incredibly disappointed with the room. There’s no mention it’s very close to noisy road but that’s on me as I could have researched it more before booking. However the road was a pleasant hum compared to the noise of the boiler/generator going all night. I recorded it after being awake all night and showed it to the receptionist who apologised and said it wasn’t normal and she’d inform management. I don’t hear anything back so contacted the property myself and am basically told it’s not their fault and they book that room out 5 times a week. Real shame as I’ve actually never left a bed review anywhere but not getting any sleep and then receiving a snappy reply insinuating it’s entirely my fault puts me off ever returning. That said the pub was lovely but be sure to avoid room 10. Also if you do read other reviews I’m not the only one so the reply from the owner felt very unfair. No offer of a refund, discount of even an sincere apology.

Wanted 3 beds for 3 adults but ended up with 2 adults sharing a double bed. Room smelled damp. Noise from other rooms. Shared bathroom was not up to an acceptable standard (that may be down to other residents). Parking was disc parking only so unable to leave car confidently without incurring parking penalty.
