The location of the Stockport hotel was excellent. It was next to the railway station and close to the town centre. It was also easy to get to many places by public transport such as the local buses.

I was horrified by the "computer booking problem". My flight into Man Airport was delayed so I did not reach the Stockport hotel until after midnight. The night porter David told me the hotel was FULL though I had booked WEEKS previously via Booking.com. He arranged for me to be transferred free by taxi to another hotel in the group in Manchester east. The cock up resulted in me not being able to go to bed til after 2:00 am!! The following day I had to be ferried back to my original hotel where I should have been accommodated in the first place. This is unacceptable customer service.

Big or bigger men like my son and myself weren’t taken into consideration about the bed. We both found it difficult to sleep on our beds. The beds weren’t fixed to the floor and kept on moving all over the room; hence our inability to have neither a good nor sound sleep.

Not a dislike, but when I booked, if the owner could have told me they would give instructions on how to get in on checking day/time, I would not have been worried I was possibly getting scammed. Minor point.

Firstly accessing the flat is a little bit of a mystery tour just to find the key. The flats do have under ground parking but host told us they are not paying for any more keys as previous renters have lost them so what would have been very useful to access the lift straight to the correct floor for the disabled users in our party wasn’t possible so they had to manage the steps at the front. ( another reason for choosing this property) The mirror in the hall was smashed and should have been removed or replaced. The sofa bed was broken so a double bed was put in the living room the slats of the bed kept slipping off. The two pillows were flat and no support. The sofa was broken and couldn’t all sit on it so an uncomfortable few days sitting on an unstable low bed instead of a comfortable sofa. The main bathroom the shower over the bath didn’t work.( another reason for choosing this property ) The second bedroom houses the boiler so noisy and is inconvenient at the angle the cupboard is situated at. The bed in this room was just two mattresses on the floor and again two very flat pillows no support again. The third bed the mattress was terrible and had a big dip in it so very uncomfortable and requires replaced. There were no bedside lights which would have been useful ( are in the photos on the site and slightly expected ) Some of the floor at the living room door isn’t finished and the radiators in the bathroom and the on suite bedroom needs refitting and not have pieces or cardboard and sticky tape covering goodness knows what. There is loud noises in the on suite if other flats use their water or bathroom so can be very noisy at times during the night/ early mornings.
