Positive section of review
The guesthouse is within easy walking distance of the seafront and in amongst other guesthouses and hotels. It is in a very pleasant part of town. Within the local area there are a great variety of things to see and do, so will suit most tastes. The rooms were very acceptable and the fact that we had to climb several flights of steps to get to them earned me extra steps on my fitness app :). The guesthouse owners were very friendly and welcoming.

I had forgotten that breakfast was not included in the price! That was my own fault but I realised at the start of the week that paying an extra £30 a day for the three of us to have breakfast would have eaten up part of our spending money. So sometimes we went to the bakery across the road instead. The curtain in my sons’ room wasn’t very effective at keeping the sun out. There wasn’t a bar or lounge area for playing games. There were warnings in the bedroom about not getting make up on the towels. That wasn’t a problem for us but I thought some people might have found it a little unfriendly.

It was very dusty ( e.g. under the bed), for me, it wouldn’t take long to quickly take the hoover… My bed has already been made freshly and my towels have been taken away, already before I checked out, so I couldn’t take a shower again if I wanted…

The noise in the place is utterly unbearable! I've never stayed anywhere like that in my life! The floors of the place let out huge creaks and squeeks with every footstep! I mean it's so loud you can't even hear the TV over it. You hear every guest above you, below you, beside you! It's absolutely ridiculous! It's like they're in the room with you! I can't stress how loud this is. I recorded it but I can't upload it for you. It's absolutely roasting hot, unbearable. I kept my curtains closed to keep sun out during the day, but when I got back after work they had been opened and it was even hotter! The pillows are terrible. They're like a rolled up duvet, they're far too thick for anyone to enjoy. There is no parking. You have to park miles away in residential streets. The WiFi would not let me connect laptop or tablet. Had to tether to my phone all week. Has to be the worst week I've ever spent in a hotel. I'm very suspicious of all the positive reviews before me! Terrible! Avoid like the plague.
