Location was superb! Shower is great and having an outside area is really lovely if you manage to time it well with the weather. Place is quite cosy but if you’re not there for too long of a stay, it’s perfectly acceptable.

My dad has a mobility scooter and we underestimated the narrowness/steepness of the stairs to the front door. This was more an error on our end with his accessibility but not ideal. Sofa bed was rock hard but again we were only there for two nights so manageable considering, and the kitchen/bathroom sink is tiny. Not deal breakers just the reality of a basement flat trying to make the most of the space with an outside area.

The room was perfect for what we needed and wanted. Only fault we had was alot of noise very early in the morning due to an event, this was no fault of the hostel itself but the other users being inconsiderate!

We didn’t stay for breakfast, but the dinner we had the night before was excellent. Our room was comfortable and quiet.

Just a very minor quibble. The system for going in to dinner seemed just a little overly formal and our 8pm request for dinner was nearer 9.30pm, after being summoned to have canapés and drinks beforehand, at 7.50pm, then waiting to be led to our table. The food was vey good and we reckoned it was probably how it should be, giving the chef time to prepare each diner’s food with care.

The room was supposedly upgraded, but the bathroom was dangerous with loose tiles, which cut my feet and a shower that leaked all over the tiles, causing my daughter to slip over. There was a fridge and tean and coffee facilities in the bathroom, which is not hygienic. I mentioned these things at checkout, and I didn't even get an apology from the reception staff. I have emailed with no response. I would not stay here again. For the cost this was not what I was expecting.

The photos must of been taken years ago as it has changed a lot and not for the better! The whole apartment especially the bedroom smelt of damp and the kitchen smelt as well. It needs a proper deep clean and probably renovation to be up to standard.
