Rooms were basic and functional although we had to move from the first room as AC did not work and room was very hot - nice location close to Chester City centre and a nice walk on a sunny day - The gym and fitness centre were a plus

On one day the room was not cleaned even though requested it and for 2-days we had a painter in our corridor painting the walls - not great to be staying in a room when that was happening

Wifi is confusing. It looks like you need a code, but in reality you didn't. Very unclear Wifi joining page and reception said "yeah I know, we get asked this alot". Breakfast facilities at sister hotel very nice but seemingly cheap ingredients. Sausages looked wonderful, but once eaten were bland and "meatless". Breakfast had many people, all queuing for 1 coffee machine ???

The room was dated. Plugs by the beds were round 3-pin, which should have been changed to square pins. Drawers were hard to close. Pillows were very soft and had to ask for more.
