This is a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location. Yes the hotel is in need of some updating, however we found it was part of it's charm having original features. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely. We had a superior room which was huge, with a view of the front, a huge bathroom, dinner, B & B all for £156 which is very good value for money. We paid £22 additional for our evening meal (you get £25 each towards you're evening meal). I can't fault our stay, it was just perfect.

Lovely comfortable private lodge. Very clean and nicely decorated. Location very good- tucked away but not too far from the centre and close to a large park. Communication from the host was excellent.

Only slight gripe was the shower as it was not very powerful and tricky to get the temperature right.

This was a perfect base for our trip to Cardiff - easy to walk into the town centre and to the stadium, but great to be staying on a quiet street in a clean and comfortable apartment.

Beautiful conversion from old county offices to hotel. Easy walking access to Durham city. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
