The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The breakfast didn't live up to our expectations as there was limited hot options for vegetarians. Last time we stayed there were hash browns and tomatoes but not this time and my wife doesn't eat eggs or mushrooms. We had to ask for veggie sausages so it would be better if we were advised on entry that we could order some other items. Apart from that it was a lovely stay and we will book again.

Great service from host to locate and enter building; checked up all was ok by text, and was able to speak to a real person. Would book again. Good view, quiet, comfortable and plenty of space. Very easy access to Northern Line and therefore other parts of city; literally just over road from station. Excellent breakfast in cafe just over the road.

Breakfast was a choice of cereals, fruit juice, fruit and a cooked breakfast to your requirements. The hosts Alan and Cath were lovely and you felt as if you were visiting and staying with relatives. A lovely welcome and a nice homely atmosphere. Our room was at the front, but there was no disturbance during the night of any traffic noise.

There was nothing to dislike.

Large room, very comfy bed. Pub area very welcoming. Great breakfast. One morning a middle aged team member was looking after a Norwegian couple at breakfast, she went out of her way to try and translate for them. She really did give exceptional service.

Dinner wasn’t great for the price. Salmon swimming in grease or butter unnecessary as it had a sauce, tender stem broccoli so tough almost inedible. I was still hungry afterwards, luckily biscuits in the room. I bought a sandwich for my second night.

My partner and l really loved the property. Everything was top notch, location is great and the host was very helpful and kind. Hopefully we can stay there again next time we are in Birmingham.

The only issue is the check out time. 10am is too early and even after paying late check out 11am was the latest. That’s the only issue we had.

We had the hideaway suite. It was lovely. Luckily we are both short, I don’t think the slopey ceilings would be good for tall people. Lots of space, nice surroundings. Staff were fantastic

The church opposite rings its bell every hour, all through the night.

The Hotel has parking which is convenient and the staff were so run off their feet, we felt sorry for them but they were very nice and helpful.

This was really not worth the price we paid, I am sure of that. Our room had such a potent smell of cooking and frying it made us gag. The lights didn't work properly, I guess because of the old wiring. The shower was good but the smell of fried food was the worst in there in particular. The food we ate in the restaurant was very expensive and not amazing.

It would have helped if we had been told that there were no leads on the EV chargers which meant we couldn’t charge the car as planned
