The reception staff on arrival were really helpful however we asked if the room we had been allocated were quiet (due to my ill health) and they said yes.. It was in the evening tbh however they didnt say it was sooo hot, no air con and as on ground level couldnt open the door all night.

The heat in the room was awful which didnt help me at all and in the morning 0645 ish) there was a long continuous noise it sounded like a generated but mustve been the water pipes. The food in the restaurant was not as expected either and not great. However breakfast was better. We asked at reception to speak to a manager as it certainly was we expected and paid for. We wamted a nice quiet weekend break away for a restbite but certainly didnt get that, i would not go back or recommend either. The hotel were not really interested in what we had to say and said we needed to complain via booking.com?!? Totally. Unacceptable all round

Fantastic place in a gorgeous location. Cath is very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Communication was great ahead of our stay and the food was amazing. You couldn't ask for a prettier location nestled between the mountains amidst the roaming deer. Highly recommend!

The room was huge, large double bed, large bathroom, everywhere was exceptionally clean, the breakfast was superb and the hosts brilliant, and the views outstanding. No Noise from anywhere, large windows to see the garden and woodland beyond. Brilliant stay

Excellent location for exploring the Peaks, plenty nearby for walking, eating. Breakfast was brilliant, appreciate daily cake! John was very friendly and full of knowledge. Room was comfortable and quiet. Had a lovely break away.

The breakfast was the only thing that came up to expectations - a reasonably well put together 'Full Scottish' and serve at the table not just a buffet.

It started when I arrived to find the doors to the hotel locked! - these was just a notice on the door telling me to call a number for 'assistance' - the number went to a voicemail system - I nearly left then! - had I not been looking for other contact details on the booking I would have done but after about a minute someone came to the door let me in and checked me in. Guy seemed pretty disinterested. The promised restaurant and bar were closed although I was directed to a pub along the road which proved to be ok [and did give 10% discount for hotel guests]. The room had seen better days - there was peeling paint on the door frames and the decor was very faded - some thing had clearly been screwed to the wall at some point and then removed as the holes were still very visible. The bed was clean but not particularly comfortable as the mattress was rather thin. The bathroom window only had the lower panes of panes in privacy glass and there was no curtain - the shower worked but never properly heated up.

Location, near to motorway but very private and peaceful. Grounds were lovely. Had very nice walk. Staff very friendly and helpful and always happy.

The view was looking onto wooden shed where staff seemed to be using for break, not very private. View from other areas were very nice , especially from dining room.

Great communication with the host. The house was very modern, clean and well equipped. The car parking space is great to have.

The beds in the two single rooms are not very comfortable and the rooms could do with a chair or something small in there to lay clothes on. It would be great if the main bathroom had a shower attachment on the bath so the en-suite isn’t the only place you can shower.
