Great location, close to high street shops, pubs and cafes and the seafront. Nice and quiet. Good having area to front and back garden / yard to property. Neighbours are pleasant. Appreciated allowed dog to stay. Nice to have large dining table for group meals. Large and comfy sofas in living room. All bedrooms very spacious. Loved that provided bath sheet towels rather than smaller ones. Good to have blackout blinds in bedrooms too. Nicely furnished throughout, in keeping with period and style. Some nice artwork too. Plenty of pans and crockery in kitchen. Good size fridge and freezer. Has a dishwasher too - good bonus. Seating area in back yard.

Some facilities such as bathroom are adequate, but need an upgrade, addition and maintenance. Bathroom needed on second floor between bedrooms and shower cubicle on first floor would be better (rather than having to use bathroom off the kitchen). Old style cistern on first floor in keeping with property, but did break couple times while we there, (dislodged from rocker) but we managed to fix it. Also only provision of 2 toilet rolls for weekend with a large group is not satisfactory, especially for cost of property rental (we had to go and buy more as no stock left in house). Back yard - good to have seating area outside, but yard could do with upgrade to make more attractive (currently cracked concrete and weeds around edges). Due to nature of property (large victorian house), did find that sound travelled, so as soon as one person is up and moving around (however early and quiet), rest of household hears them. Properly not much can do about that - just to be aware. Also had a birds nest in roof to back of property (2nd floor bedroom above wardrobe), but mostly heard during day and late at night, so did not disturb sleep too much.

What a fantastic team of staff. We were quite a difficult group in many ways with my 2 young grandchildren and my elderly mother in our group. But all the staff responded positively to every little request we made and sorted everything. We were also delighted when staff used their initiative and went the extra mile to make us even more comfortable. The bedrooms were beautiful and the beds extremely comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean.

One tiny problem over a delayed dinner but this was resolved straight away to our satisfaction.

Comfy room with fridge and goodies. Any time access to large lounge (with drinks, gooies, and books and games) and breakfast room, so don't have to remain stuck in the bedroom. Very dog friendly. Very good breakfast- buffet 'continental' includes hot food, eggs and sausages. ( I had the biggest choc muffin I have ever seen ). Very homely. Nicely decorated. 2 mins to front, 5-10 mins to centre, on street parking.

I imagine on street parking might be a bit of an issue at peak season but there are plenty of side roads.

What a brilliant place to stay. A wonderful change from the usual cut & paste hotel rooms everywhere else. And the location couldn't be better in the heart of Chepstow. Food is amazing, drink is fabulous and the staff are all super friendly. If you're looking for somewhere to stay that's full of character and offers the warmest of welcomes, then look no further!

Great location, REALLY comfy bed, bath in the bathroom, amazing view, an all round comfortable stay from start to finish! Staff were super friendly, definitely check out the Seed Library (downstairs cocktail bar), is a lovely space and special shoutout to Greig and Penny for making me feel so welcomed and giving me some great recs for in London!

Breakfast wasn’t the best - limited options compared to what they had on the board, have had better ham and cheese croissants from Starbucks, would go elsewhere for breakfast next time

The apartment was beautifully decorated and very clean. The location was perfect, just a short walk into York city centre.

We found the bedding uncomfortable as there was no mattress cover and an ill-fitting flat sheet that came off during the night, so we were sleeping on a bare mattress.

Location, easy walking distance to centre. Well equipped kitchen. Outside space. Lovely shower.

No low lighting in living room. Our personal preference is to not use overhead lighting.
