Positive section of review
Light breakfast and coffee provided, shower toiletries included, and very cosy beds! Our son liked the garden best, which has multiple sitting areas, great light, and lush flowers. We spotted many butterflies and had coffee outside every morning. The walk into city centre was easy and beautiful by the water. It was also a bonus to be in walking distance from the nature reserve, Carnac Point, and children’s play areas. We saw seals from Carnac Point on our last morning!

There are fragile (and very lovely) decorative items, but Marie didn’t seem to mind that we shifted them out of reach of our toddler. Just be aware in case you have a particular wild child - you may need to move a few things for your stay 🙂

All our needs were catered for. Ian and Loraine were very friendly and courteous. They even dried our wet swimming gear overnight and had it lovely for us in the morning

Breakfast not applicable. One thing that stood out was the bathroom shower, absolutely excellent. Probably the best shower and cubicle we’ve ever used away from home.

The basin and shelf immediately above made it very difficult to wet-shave without accidentally hitting the glass shelf with head or hands when washing or rinsing face without a flannel.

Really good position in Helensburgh only a few minutes walk from the train station. It is a lovely cafe/bar/restaurant with excellent food.

A great spot with transport, cafes and shopping just yards away. Easy check-in, staff met us on site, milk in the fridge and scrupulously clean.

Probably the worst bathroom we’ve struck in two months travelling, tiny with a totally impractical hand basin. Small but annoying point - please sharpen the kitchen knives in the knife block, they can’t cut anything thicker than oxygen. And another couple of knives in the cutlery drawer would be good, there’s only two in there.

It was the second time we have stayed here and we will be back for a third if we decide to come this way again. The location is amazing.

On the emergency exit map the room numbers did not match the actual room numbers The breakfast did not offer cereal as an option. There were no eggs available on that day.
