We chose to stay just outside Whitby, having struggled to find somewhere in the centre with ground floor access and parking adjacent given I have mobility issues. Although not wheelchair accessible (it didn’t claim to be) it was perfect for us with minimal and deep steps. A short taxi ride only into the centre which was spot on. Rooms were spotless and spacious and the breakfast was divine. It’s clear that time and effort goes into making the place clear and a tray is left outside each room for you to leave dirty boots so we assumed this was popular with walkers. Really friendly hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. We visited the Hare and Hounds pub 5 mins walk away (not the best surfaces for wheelchairs to get there) and the food there was amazing with huge portions although not cheap. Great for a treat.

Bed was supersize which was great but the pillows were thin. I’m sure more would have been provided if we’d asked so that’s on us for not asking but I’d recommend the owners think about some a little plumper.

The hotel is very modern and charismatic! The interior design of the hotel is fascinating. Everything is tastefully designed and you feel like you are in a fairy tale. The rooms are very spacious and always neat and clean! The bed is very comfortable. The toiletries in the bathroom are also great. The hotel bar and the bar in the Glasshaus on the roof terrace are really great with music and a nice atmosphere. You can really relax here. The minibar, tea bags and coffee capsules were always very well stocked. As for the staff, I would like Shana Thomas (Guest Relations Manager) Highlight! She is very friendly, attentive and helpful. Thanks to employees like you, guests feel very comfortable and welcome at the hotel! I will happily stay here again on future trips!

We liked everything, the cottage is absolutely charming and set amongst beautiful scenic surrounds and gardens. The resident peacocks are very friendly and put on a daily show for us. The cottage is well equipped even a washing machine and drying racks. Location is tranquil and peaceful but within easy reach by car to all the surrounding towns and villages. Would highly recommend.

Small price to pay but being in a countryside location it was a little muddy and imagine if it rained it would be even more so. Best to take appropriate footwear. The televisions were rather small. A bigger bed in the double room would have been better for us.

The breakfast is delicious, there is plenty of choice and nice little touches like fresh fruit and fresh scones/muffins brought around as well as the main breakfast. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming (Amanda deserves a special shout out)

My only slight niggle is the placement of the tv as it is very close to the bathroom door and so catches on the door / clothes.

The decor is tired & tatty. The paintwork is chipped. One of the sockets was loose. The sheets on the bed felt old & worn. It was dirty - the TV remote control was sticky, the mirrors had not been cleaned, the surfaces were dirty, there were dead flowers, hairs on the windowsill, the bath mats were dirty. The tiles in the bathroom were limescaled. I could not find the advertised parking garage

Room was right next to the kitchen so was regularly disturbed by people in and out of it. Room door was unable to be secured from the inside.
