Lympstone Manor Hotel is set in the most beautiful peaceful & tranquil location, the estuary that surrounds it is stunning. The staff are friendly and kind and always at hand if you needed anything seen to. Our room had incredible views across the estuary and the beautiful well kept gardens. The king size bed was so comfortable, the best I have ever slept in. We had a fabulous evening entertainment with the Shanty Men, in the pool house restaurant, along with an impeccable fish dinner and excellent wine pairing with each course. I had the great pleasure of also meeting Michael Caines, Michelin chef who is such a kind and lovely man. Lympstone Manor offers luxury, a place where you can enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds it, a place to celebrate a special occasion. I can’t wait to return.

The pod is in a remote location which was perfect for me. The view over the Dyfi estuary was spectacular and I enjoyed sitting outside watching and listening to the local Cuckoo. Inside, the pod was as expected. I easily made do with the kettle and the fridge. Basic cooking facilities are in adjacent shed. The sofa folded down into a bed. A mattress topper was supplied and I brought my own pillow, bed sheet and sleeping bag. I slept really well and the bed was comfortable. It is a bit off grid there so I had downloaded some films and tv shows to my iPad beforehand. After a full day in the outdoors though I was too tired to watch them! It took me a while to work out how to use the shower but I think that was just my obtuseness. All in all I was sad to drive away.

I have a lot of experience of driving on single track roads but I found the road up to the pods to be on a different level. There are some passing places but in a number of places, the track runs beside the edge of the mountain with sharp drops and I was worried about meeting another vehicle and having to reverse around a bend on that road. I had researched the road before coming on google maps but hadn’t appreciated how close the road goes to the edge of the mountain. But I did it and it was worth it, but I would recommend anyone check out the road on the maps if you’re not sure about narrow mountain roads.

The facilities and rooms were brilliant, really clean and comfortable. Andy and Amanda were excellent hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. Pippin is really well placed for touring all around the area with good access to the surrounding coasts (North and South). A lovely quiet setting with great views of the surrounding countryside and the dark night skies.

The tranquility being in amongst the mountains was amazing, and we got incredibly lucky with the weather which meant we got to utilise all of the amenities - the BBQ, hot tub, outdoor seating.
