We loved our stay at the Antlers. After cycling all day, tired and cold, we arrived in Sandra’s and Sandy’s house, it was warm, welcoming, we immediately felt at home and looked after… they very much know about hospitality. We had a very peaceful nights sleep and a good breakfast with excellent porridge served with fresh cream and honey!

Perfect location. Beautiful decor and very well equipped with all the mod cons. Lovely patio garden area, super comfy bed and great communication with host re parking and how to find and access the property. Everything was super clean and fresh. Lots of little details to make my stay welcoming and relaxing.

If you’re a coffee snob the dolce gusto machine doesn’t quite serve up a decent coffee. That’s the only small thing I could think of that wasn’t perfect. There is a cafetière available for use instead however.

I liked the whole experience, the history etc My time at Langtry Manor was not long enough but what I experienced in the small amount of time was so very enjoyable and the room wonderful. The bathroom could have done with a small table to put my wash bag onto

The hosts were really quick to respond and helpful. Communication was very good. The location was local to tube station and Paddington train station. Kitchen area was well kitted out and apartment was clean

Some DIY needed and the decor is a little tired in places. Some of the furniture and room dressings in the pictures that attracted me to the apartment are no longer there (such as the coffee table and cushions in the lounge) There were no TV channels or Freeview so ended up streaming programs through laptop.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful, we had just finished a 80km times hike and they made sure we could relax in our room by bringing our meals to the room with a complimentary drink. Fantastic.

The television didn’t work, it wasn’t the remote. The shower had a huge leak and had rusty hole in the middle. There was a pair of flash eyelashes in the bathroom, it must have been left by the last guest. There was also a gold earring in the bed.

The staff seemed friendly and bought an iron to our room when I requested it.

The room and bathroom were dirty. The Shower cubical floor was littered with dead bugs, they were also in the hand basin. The bathroom generally needed a good clean, the shower cubicle fixtures were filthy. The bedroom was shabby with damaged furniture, large holes in the picture over the beds. We didn't have a lot of time after check-in as we were attending a funeral, a member of staff said the bathroom would be cleaned when we were out. It wasn't. The beds/matteresses need replacing, when I pulled back my duvet there was a spider in the bed. The public areas need a hoover and some general cleaning. Our room over looked a courtyard which was just a mess of overgrown brambles. The whole place was shabby and neglected. We were there for one night just as a stopover as I suspect many guests are due to the location, but the phrase "sleep like a rockstar " was all over the place, even on the keycard. Never has an over used phrase ever been more wrong.

One particular member of staff was very agressive and intimidating. After finishing our meal at 0930 on our wedding anniversary celebration, we were told at 0950 that we would no longer be served. The shutters for the residences bar were very forcefully closed. When we questioned this, the barman suggested we should leave the hotel that we were residences off. All this time staff were drinking in the bar. We decided that this was unacceptable. We had a meeting with the duty manager that night who was sypathetic to the situation. We decided at this point we would not be spending a second night there with this type behaviour, and management failure, and we booked another hotel in Perthshire. We had a meeting with Hans the deputy manager in the morning who said he would investigate and get back to us. Thats was a week ago, and we still awaiting a response. Your isolation with no alternative resteraunts or places to go in close proximity makes this for me an absolutle no. The refurb is OK but nothing special and the lesuire suite is a poor 80s add on and certainly not to todays expected standards.
