Been a few times before - quaint. The room. Although supposed to be deluxe, wasn’t. Had better rooms in the past The inn contacted me on the morning of our stay to ask if I would like to make dinner reservations which I thought was excellent customer service

Waited an hour for evening meal. Short staffed Food not great although ample portions. I had sausages with a bubble and squeak potato cake - the vegetables weren’t cooked and the jus was too rich. Trying too hard - sausage and mash with bacon and onion gravy would’ve been better Breakfast couldn’t be faulted Room was “tired”. Floorboards were creaking everywhere. Bed was just a double- fourposter which my 6ft 2 husband didn’t fit in and the bath was too narrow and there was a constant flickering spotlight over the bath. Bath deals need redoing. Robes were too small and mattress was lumpy. TV couldn’t be turned on by remote, only by the switch and was too small and too high up on the wall to watch from bed. To cap it all, this was supposed to be a birthday treat for my husband and to have one day away from caring for my elderly mother who lives with us and her dog, and 3 kids who still live at home - but at half 7, the dog in the next room started whining as obviously his owners had gone down for breakfast and that was still going on nearly 2 x hours later. Annoying when you have a lie in once in a blue moon - dogs should not be left in rooms - should’ve been taken down with owners and this should be stipulated when booking Takes a lot of effort for some such as ourselves to get a way for one night arranging respite care etc and this time is very precious- just wanted a bit of peace

Really comfortable stay at this well positioned and homely bnb. The kind and friendly owner went out of his way to make sure we got breakfast when we had an early start and helped us store our bikes securely.

We forgot our passports inside safety locker ... did the check out travelled via train from Liverpool and until 5 pm no one called me!! .. when i remembered, I had to call back and forth until next day where they insisted that service team confirmed no passports found ... until I requested to check one more last time ... finally they found them inside the locker ... it seems there is quality issue with the service team on cleaning and securing lost stuff ... we were lucky the new visitor who booked the room did not touch them .. so simply make sure to not forget or leave anything expensive or critical for your business inside the room ... always take it with you
