Positive section of review
Well, reading previous reviews it seems to be luck of the draw. However, we liked the grandeur and spaciousness of the hotel which seems to have been recently refurbished in the public areas. We had a decent, convenient and well equipped room overlooking the street - smallish but clean and maintained. Ensuite ok. Comfortable bed. The English breakfast was good. Self service. Superb location - close to the sea but also shops and public transport. We enjoyed an ABBA tribute in the theatre.

I was unable to adjust the temperature of the water in the shower. Either too hot or too cold. The shower cubicle was rather small. The rooms are not serviced and I found no notice regarding this. There was no toilet brush to DIY. Reception did supply tea bags, milk etc. If asked. Our biggest concern was that there was only one chair in the room for two not so young people. I asked for a second chair but was told it would be a fire risk. There was only one light in the room above the bed which was inadequate for reading. The TV did not have a subtitle feature.

A lovely apartment in a lovely location. The views from the windows were absolutely superb. A pair of binoculars are provided so you can see out to sea. The apartment is well stocked and parking space is very close, you can see your car from the apartment lounge.

The apartment is at the top of a very steep hill, I had to stop a few times on the way up, however did not let that spoil the experience. Sofas could have been a bit more comfy, however no real complaints.

Third year we have stayed there as location excellent and very near bus routes . Also very clean with daily service of the room if you wanted it. Bed very comfortable and three out of the four rooms had been updated.

Two of the showers had little pressure and one room at the back was very near the extraction fan and took in a lot of the kitchen smells.

Beautiful house and furnishings. Bedroom and bathroom of highest quality. Hosts Shirley & Nigel very hospitable. Tea on arrival and an excellent breakfast.
